Cheapest place to get cholera due to lack of tap water, with glorified ghetto Lagos leading the pack of deprivations huh

itubaba001:
Lagos, the commercial hub of Nigeria, has been ranking as one of the worst places to live in the world for the nine straight years, a BusinessDay analysis shows.

Data from the 2019 Global Liveability Index published by the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), the world’s leader in global business intelligence, shows the city has been within the range of 137th-139th position out of a total of 140 cities in the world from year 2011-2019.
>
>
The EIU examines the quality of health care, education, infrastructure, stability, and culture when assessing living conditions of each city. More than 30 factors are taken into account when calculating each rank, which are then complied into a weighted score between one and 100.

This survey can also be used by young Nigerians to assess places to live as a dollar earner.

The aim is to earn in USD.

Are you daft? Or just capping ?
Do you even understand this is not true on a very basic level?
And do you understand that this is a very poor reflection of our current economy?
Do you realize that this shows the extreme poor status of the cuteness welfare.

What is cheap for foreigners shows how hard it is for the citizens ?
Do you realize how stupid and detached from reality you have to be to see this is something to chest beat about ?

Very true...let me give you an example

The cost to stay in a UK hotel for 3 days = 300 pounds = $375 = N540,000

You will pay the same to stay in an AirBnB in Ibadan for 5.5 weeks.

3 days vs 38 days...Sadly not everyone can japa to enjoy Nigeria even those in that UK or US. Savings are hard to come by but those retired are milking it o. They have paid off mortgages abroad and finished building in Nigeria...collecting monthly retirement in forex.

Oga, get a skill and offer it to companies abroad while living in Naija. You will have the best of both worlds.

You are not an expatriate. You're an immigrant. Give Nigerians those jobs and pay them the same amount.

Yes, because tourists love flocking to a country with rampant insecurity and a corrupt incompetent police force

SoNature:
With or without Naira crash, Nigeria and most black African countries have relatively low cost of living due to poor disposal incomes. If you work for Americans from Nigeria, they tag you people from low-income countries.
The major reason is low cost of labor, which remains stagnant despite hyperinflation and relatively cheap fuel.

It's not their fault, it's as a result of the exchange rate....

How is your vicious attack related to what he says. It is now a sin to defend or opine that Abuja and Lagos should also be affordable to Nigerians, not only foreigners?

Helineus is right, Africa is cheap and has been cheap for foreigners so that they can buy you cheaply since slave trade.

By the way, Heneous should not have defended Tinubu Devaluation. Most African leaders have been indoctrinated, in the selfish interest of both sides, that Devaluation and Foreign Investment is the cure for African countries' economic problems.

That is buy us cheap. When America borrows, they do it in their currency and they can print as much as they want to pay back.

...cheapest for expatriates, but costliest for Nigerians.
That's why the IMF and WB keeps telling them to devalue/ float naira so that the country would be easily accessable for their expatriates. With just $10k Those "portfolio expatriates" can come down here secure a lucrative contract, get paid in dollars, which further kills our naira and strengthen theirs .
