Rather than the government helping to provide the environment for innovation, we are busy visiting fish markets. Giant companies like P&G, Unilever, and Meta are either leaving or downsizing, taking away good paying jobs and billion-dollar investments to the economy... and its fish markets in 1 LGA that we are trumpeting. No serious country has 2 ministers for "youth". That is where your problem lies.

In the right sense what government should do like Peter obi said is

1) you invest in these people
By a) getting them to form cooperatives of 50 people each...
b) then you invest in them by providing credit facilities in the forms of soft loans

To buy trawlers to increase fishing capacity and processing facilities... Say 20 million dollars to 20 cooperatives

c) then you tax them based on their revenue and profit

I hate to tell you...but inside you have self-hatred.

I'm not insulting you. I've been like this before, till I realised that though Africa has a lot of problems, but " the white man, Japanese or Arab's ice is not colder".

When you hate yourself, you end up fighting others and yourself....you lose.

No big fishing ships in the large coastal area to catch and bring in the fish, no big processing plants to separate and prepare the fish for sales, no big freezing facilities or heaters to keep the fresh for sales and no surrounding stores to sell the fish to buyers?

All of these which could be achieved with the money the minister and his minions are already planning to steal from the ministry during his tenure. And here is he bragging as if he has achieved the 8th wonder of the world. What a shame!
