Tinapa, Amechi's monorail in PH, this one. Nothing new! They all started as hyped and laudable projects. Sound familiar?

10 years from now, they will be writing the same abandonment story for Lagos-Calabar highway.

That's the tallest building in Ebonyi state at presco junction. I thought they once rumoured that a private investor purchased it for 500m

It's 11 story building
It's sinking so no private investor would even think of buying it.

This building was started by Sam Egwu.
This is why nigeria is not growing,
A governor will start a project but won't finish before end of his tenure, instead of the incoming to continue and finish,
He will abandon cos he didn't start it so no body will praise him if he finishes it....
As if they are building it with their money,
Why is America or UK as beautiful as it is today....

No be today That structure is abandoned for like 20 years now by the governor before Dave Umahi and before Elechi.
Why? Does it have structural problems that require it be brought down or something? huh

Not Prado pls. Be guided.

If he buys 25 Prado, the economy of Ebonyi state will collapse.

The ones bought are good enough and suitable for purpose.
Re: Tallest Building In Ebonyi Abandoned By State Government by mastermaestro(m): 5:53pm On Jun 23, 2024
White elephant project as usual. Demolish the building and reuse the plot for something productive. I doubt it will be sensible to continue work on such a long abandoned building that likely has developed structural lapses over time.

The foundation of the building is faulty, the building is not supposes to be their in the first place. Sam Egwu ignorantly wasted Ebonyi State resources on that project. That place can't carry more than 5 story building.
Even on water you can build 100 story

Wastage of public funds.

God help Nigeria.

Who would want to stay in this shiithole region ?

If God allows people to change ethnicity. I can bet you 99.99999999% of them wouldn't change to Caucasian.

They will change to Yoruba. I can bet anything.

And you can be sure 0.000000001% of Yoruba will want to be an Indigene of this shiithole. grin

The raw hate is just jealousy of Yoruba being 1000x superior. cheesy

I dont mind a ban for this. Its 100% fact. 💯

I know that building. Around Presco junction. It is an eyesore in Abakaliki.
Yea beside Women development center.

It was just a conduit to loot state funds. Imagine pumping hundreds of millions into it only to abandon it.

300 Ebonyians going for scholarship in STEM courses in the UK
700 Ebonyians going for scholarship in Nigerian universities within the country.
Completing Dave’s stadium and Vanco flyover.
Took back popular Ebonyi state university teaching hospital back from Federal Government.
Increased Ebonyi state university university monthly subvention to 280 million monthly from 150million.
Took in 1,500 Ebonyians into civil service
Paid gratuities accumulating from 1996 when state was created.
Increased civil servants salary and paid 100k last December to each civil servant.
Revamped internal street roads, changed diesel traffic lights to solar.

Remodelled 39 public secondary schools in the state
Employed doctors nurses pharmacists in the state general hospitals found in each local government and gave the doctors prado jeeps each.

Abeg Ebonyi governments naturally from time immemorial don’t like paying for media hype. If you don’t come to the state or visit you will not know what is going on.

That project built 20 years ago just has a structural design default, it just deserves to be demolished, if you reconstruct e go fall.
This governor will completely revamp Eboyin in the coming years of his tenure

The inferiority complex of the Ebonyi
people always pushes their leaders to
do wetin pass dem power...

Same way the immediate past governor
built an airport in order not to be left out,
since all other Igbo states have airports..

After spending billions to erect such an
unviable airport project, the structure has
been abandoned and turned into a taxi
and motor park❗️❗️❗️

In fact the airport has become an easy
source of embezzlement and milking of
the Ebonyi people as the new governor, in
one year, has reportedly spent N17bn to
carry out maintenance on an airport that
isn't operational❗️❗️😐😐😐

EXCLUSIVE: N53Billion Ebonyi Airport In One Of Nigeria's Poorest States Lies Idle Over A Year After Lavish Inauguration

Speaking recently during his first anniversary in office, Governor Nwifuru announced that his administration had spent N17.3 billion on remedial work on the airport runway.

June 19, 2024, marks the 390th day since the Chuba Okadigbo International Airport in Abakaliki was opened by former President Muhammadu Buhari on May 26, 2023.

Abia doesn't have an airport and they are currently planning to build one. Is that a also as a result of inferiority complex?

Probably because it has not been put to use. Mind you, when equipments are installed, paints and other things are put on it, the weight may be too much for the foundation to carry. Additionally, people will be working there adding to the weight. The building may be at the tipping point shaa.
blocks, sand and rods carry 80% of loads in a building,so the remaining 20% addition won't make it to collapse.

The government must have done soil test before embarking on the project

the ground there is too loamy for 11 storey and the contractor didn’t pour enough stone and gravel to the foundation to hold 11 storey.

Na only Tinubu wey dey sandfill Atlantic Ocean using Hitech fit build that kind 11 storey in that loamy soil make e stand strong.

If you install equipments and human weights, e go collapse.

And you can’t redo the foundation of a built 11 storey can you?

Do you see why it’s now abandoned?

Good

It can probably be demolished from the top into a 4 storey building as the loamy soil can carry then rent it out to private investors.
Why didn't they do proper soil test before starting such a project?

Which private investors? Unless investors who can convert it to living homes. Govs who build vainglory projects in their state capital while rest of the state stink are many.

Population, not buildings, make a place thrive.

Good. But I'll really like to see more ROADS and municipal water. He should invest in electricity too - now that states are allowed to act in that direction. Then bring back Ebube Agu so that criminals and Fulani marauders won't take it all away.

Your other APC governors patch only roads in the state capital.

Otti understands the economic importance of good urban roads not only for state capital but for other cities in a state.
