This country is for politician and the rich..imagin a cup of rice N400 & a rubber of Garri 3600. A country that dont have price control, people on d street suffering and smilling. Since am a kid and now have grown old, NEPA is still taking light..a country with too much corrupt people.
Too much corruption, judgment is upon the nation. Can't they see? This is jugement.

A nation with a compromised justice system.

Where criminality aka yahoo is normalized. And hook up a culture.

A nation whoring with sin and iniquity, can't see the favour of God.

We have to turn right around and renounce our foolish "Nigerian smart mentality" which is just being a petty criminal.

Righteousness exalts a nation but sin is a reproach.

Even "Christians" are crying? Abomination.

Repentance or perish.

May mercy prevail over judgment.

Till when!

After the complain no solution, Nigerians we need to come together and say enough is enough, the president, governor's and the rest are all living luxury lifestyle at the expense of the masses, and they will tell you to manage all is well.

We all should start small farming at our backyards. That's the solution bcoz the high cost of food is deliberate and it's aimed at making life difficult for Nigeria and Nigerians.

I don't understand why beans sellers would tell me it's bcoz of transport as if Tinubu increased fuel prices again

I bought carrots 4 weeks ago for #1,000 at Orange market Mararaba.

A week after, that's 3 weeks ago I was there to buy same carrots. My customer told me it's #2,200. I asked him what happened, he said it's transport and I asked which transport,? Did Tinubu increase fuel prices again?

Na we dey do ourselves. A basket of tomatoes that was #18,000 in April became #80,000 by first week of June, the seller said it's transport. Me I don't understand bcoz it's more than conspiracy.

Now, what's going to happen when Minimum Wage is effected? No be we dey do ourselves?

Meanwhile, be careful about fruits o and all these fertilizer vegetables o. May the Lord see us through.
All you have to do is go to the farms farms bring carrots and tomatoes to the town. Sell the carrot at 1500 instead of 2200 and the tomatoes at 25000 instead of 80,000. In 3 months you'll be a millionaire.... and you'll have helped the govt you support to battle inflation and deal with the enemies of govt.

From the official result declared, Tinubu won the entire country with about 38%, while the remaining 62% was shared majorly between Atiku and Obi. The Abuja person you are mocking probably voted obi because Obi won Abuja. You had to single out the Makama because the name sound northern to you without knowing he’s a middle belt and most likely a Christian, same middle belt you claim loved your preferred candidate, but your stupidity can’t let you see

People who are bigots have a very low intelligent Quotient, your analytical skills are extremely low and you lack rationality. If not, you would have been able to figure out this simple fact. War, disasters, famine etc doesn’t know who is right or wrong, it comes for anyone in its path. Please grow up.

It's the reality. Seek a legitimate means to solve your poverty. You and your family have been complaining since independence instead of seeking for ways around your poverty. When another become president you will still complain because you are poor expecting the government to enrich you.

Which traders?

I showed you data from authoritaive sources that points that food growth has fallen over the past years and government has don't nothing to improve crop yield.
Before transportation increase how much was a bag of maize in 2015 cost compared to 2018/2019? How much was tubers of yams in 2015 compared to 2018/2019?
How much was garri per bag in 2015 compared to 2019?

Here is a report from 2017 when subsidy was still in place
How much is a bag of garri today?
Are you saying there was food scarcity in 2017?
It seems you're unaware that Buhari increased fuel price from N87 to N145 towards 2016 ending under same guise of fuel subsidy removal. So which subsidy was in place in 2017?

seriously i am more than ready to do just anything. The suffering is too much abeg. My only problem are these useless people those criminal politicians has as agent. They're on their payroll to defend them on every social media platform. They also have large followers following them because of the crumbs and handouts they are getting from these politicians agent. They are also using TRIBALISM to divide the masses. If we want to tell this useless corrupt government that enough is enough these agent will call us igbo/ipob. And their followers will all do what they asked them to do because of crumbs and handouts. Suffering and smiling. Those agent obviously had sold their heart to the dogs. I have them on Facebook and this forum plenty. Because of appointment or contracts they get from the government then the masses should go and die. It's really tiring seriously

The food price increase u see is not only attributed to cost push inflation e.g cost of transportation due to increase in fuel price.
It's also attributed to increasing demand.
Nigeria population growth rate is one of the highest in the world.

Take for instance in 1960s UK population was about 50+ million with Nigerian population 40m+ also same.
But right now our population has exceeded 200 million while UK population is around 70m even the 70m larger numbers of it are immigrants.

We have to do something to increase farm production else what Malthusian theory suggest might happen to Nigeria or we resolve to import food just as we import fuel...

While we acknowledge fuel cost but we must not deny population growth rate out stripping food growth rate.

So idris thought untill other presidents after Obasanjo came and did worse then we knew Obasanjo was a Saint and Godsent.

No both idris himself and Nigerians know better that Apc is the worst thing ever to happen to this country.

firstly, nobody complained of hunger under Jonathan government. People eat to their satisfaction. The economy was booming. Things were very cheap that almost anybody can afford it. A bag of rice was around 8k. Minimum wage can sustain a single person for a month. The disaster started when Buhari came in. Cost of living went overboard. Loss of jobs and industries leaving to other neighbouring countries

Nobody is seeking for government to enrich them. The government should deliver why they're being elected into that office for. No one is looking for free money. What we're going through today in Nigeria has nothing to do with poverty. Even the few rich ones are complaining. I personally know someone earning 360k a family man with two kids. This man still resorts to taking loan to support himself. How many Nigerians earning such amount? A country with 30k minimum wage while the politicians earn hundreds of millions and steal billions. Stop defending these people please. Tinubu has failed so far. Economy is zero, security is nothing to write home about, health care is zero, agriculture is zero while their millions of income is coming steadily. Several companies had left because of harsh economy. Stop defending failure. No be everybody poor and if everybody poor should it get to the level that they can not afford to feed?

Nigeria population is not any 200m. Even from 1959, we've never had any credible census. The claim of 200million is projection based on the flawed 2006 census. 2006 census put Lagos at about 8million which then gov Tinubu rejected because he said Kano can't be more populated than Lagos. He later came up with his own 17m population.
Nobody has said it is only transport but transport is the MAIN causative factor. Nigeria's population growth rate has even slowed from what we had in the 80s and 90s so how can we have food scarcity now when our growth rate has slowed?
Tinubu is an unmitigated disaster

According to world bank.... A reputable source Nigeria population was estimated to be over 218m as at 2022.

You should understand that there are factors they followed to arrive at this number.

If you keep arguing like this and u find ur self writing a thesis or a dissertation in school honestly you will fail. Even ordinary essay you are bound to fail.

I am responding based on data from reputable sources that have world standard and practice of measuring this data.
Since u are not an authority in such field... U have no voice just like I have no voice rather I argue in reference to authoritative source...

Don't argue as if u are in beer parlour.

Secondly is there any data that points that Nigerian population has slowed? If you have then bring to the table don't assume.

All available data suggest that our population is increasing massively

people never complained of hardship nor hunger during Jonathan government. Yes people may complain for some other things but not hunger. Not hardship. A bag of rice was 8k and someone on minimum wage can afford to buy 2 bags of rice. So tell me how will Nigerians complain of hunger or hardship then? I said bring data from reputable sources if not remain silent.
This organisation have economist, mathematician, statisticians and much brain power that put this figure together while they work with the Nigerian population commission.

You said "In 2017, was there food scarcity in Nigeria?" then put it this way... Since 2017 has food production increase in Nigeria?

Do you know that most villages has been sacked in the north due to banditry? Do you know that farmers now pay bandit tax before they harvest their crop and they pass that to you as high prices?

Lastly here is a news of how 2 hectas farm of maize due for harvest was destroyed in banue

Do u know how many plots of land makes an hecter? Over 16 plots of land makes an Hecter.
Do you know how many bags that would have yielded to contribute to market supply?
