The #LagosIgboHangout " erimeri na njakiri ".

The hangout is a celebration of Igbo Food, culture, language and tradition in the city of Lagos.

For all Ndigbo , friends and lovers of the culture.

The event took place at FHA, Festac, Lagos State, on Sunday, 23rd of June 2024!
My own be say when we celebrate Yoruba day in September you must all wear our Aso Ebi otherwise you go chop koboko

There’s nothing like LagosIgbo

There’s also nothing like AnambraYoruba

Or AbiaYoruba

Or ImoHausa

The first one LagosIgbo implies that Lagos has indigenous Igbos same way DeltaIgbos are indigenous Igbos.

LagosIgbos is false attempt at indiginization, go and find your home.
More wailing please
Re: Pictures From Trending #LagosIgboHangout by FameGlory(f):
This is good but I feel Igbos should gather round and help other Igbos who need help.

I was shocked to see people contributing N15K, N30K and all to get free tickets for others.

Igbos living abroad even contributed too.

This is not the right time for eating and partying.

Times are hard.
Times are difficult.
People are struggling.
Businesses are folding.
People can't afford to feed.
Prices of food stuffs are high.
People are hungry.

Yes we know you have money to party and enjoy but what about others?

You call it #LagosIgbohangout but how many can afford common transport to the venue.

In as much as we say we are living fine, there are others that are barely surviving becos of the harsh situation of the nation.

Like this now, I need money to pay my school fees of N200K becos my business is struggling and am barely surviving at the moment.

But hey, some others are throwing money in the air, enjoying life in the name of party.

This is just bad timing if u ask me.

Same thing goes to other tribes who use this period to spend and lavish money throwing parties when their fellow brothers and sisters are barely eating and surviving this period.

Let's be human together.

This is my suggestion.

May things become soft for us all and may we all live to laugh and enjoy together in future.

And before you talk trash.

I am also Igbo.

We hardworking.

We value education.

We contribute to the economy of our host.

We don't cause violence.

We don't ask anything for free.

We pay for our house, shops and any land we occupy.

We create jobs in anywhere we find ourselves.

But when we take some time off to Flex some people becomes jealous

We are Ndigbo and you can hate all u want.

😊😊😊😊😊😊
Honestly the hatred can't be explained by scientists. We don't destroy farmlands.
We don't grab lands, rather we acquire and reacquire through legitimate means, yet what we get in return is hatred.
We don't coerce people to convert to our religion. Never!
Yet see palpable hatred everywhere!
But the surprising thing is we soar higher and higher in the midst of all these.
Same scientists can't explain.

Yes. Igbo must always go home , wait and see for yourself every December.

Igbos are the only people that MUST take their dead home for burial. Most Others patronize commercial cemetery anywhere and everywhere.

Few years ago when I lost a brother outside Nigeria , I went to make arrangements to bring his remains home. Almost every other person here in Lagos , apart from igbos were asking me why we should spend such money.

Many asked me as like na normal , "shebi una go bury there nau"
Thank God that I successfully went through all the long process and brought him back to igboland for burial.

The document could fill up two file folders , still with me now.

That is who Igbos are
in other words, you only bury your dead in alaibo but not habitable……you spend most of your productive years developing another man’s land but retire in your old age or bury your dead at home, what a life cool
