Hi Fellow NLanders,


I am trying to apply for CAQ. I am married with kids, however, they will not be joining me now. I want to apply alone and later when I move I can apply for them to join me. I am a bit confused about a particular section in the form.

In the section where the CAQ online form asks thus: "
Indicate the number of persons in your immediate family who are already in Québec or who will accompany you during your entire period of study."?

What should I answer in this case?

If I select a "number", it brings out the form for me to fill in their details (this also means I will pay the application for each dependant person), but if I select "0" no form is required. see the attached screenshot.

*Remember I mentioned that they are not going with me now because the whole process will be too much for me. My plan is to go first while they join me later.

If I answer No, would it affect my application for them later since I answered that no family member is moving with me to Quebec?

Has anybody been in a similar situation? What was your solution?

ISO said CAQ require no financial proof but only study permit.

Are u going to study MSc or PhD,

If not, u might be needing another CAQ except if u quickly applied before January 22nd

Yes, I have submitted my application with IRCC since February 10 and did Biometrics on the 12th. So, I am waiting for their decision.

My CAQ was issued by January 10 and that is essentailly before the action date, so I woluld not be needing updated CAQ. Meanwhile, I am going for a PhD.

Permit Application: February 10
Biometric: February 12
IRCC Request for medical: April 11
Medical at IOM: April 15
Medical sent to IRCC by IOM: April 16
Medical Passed: April 18 (Morning)
BVL and PPR: April 18 (Evening)

Pls how long does it take for file uploading on arima, I paid for my CAQ on Thursday 09/may/2024 around 16:20. So up till this moment I couldn't upload my document on arima but my file number is showing on the application page

It is dependent on your situation. If you have indicated that your spouse and kids will not accompany you now, the answer to the question is ‘No’ and you do not provide dependent details. However, if you indicated that they will accompany you now, then the answer should be 'Yes'.

To obtain a Quebec Acceptance Certificate (CAQ), you need to apply online through the Quebec government's immigration website, submit the required documents such as proof of acceptance from a Quebec educational blob opera institution and proof of financial capacity, and pay the application fee.
