How was economy good when people were cooking with Abacha stove, people were starving, the minimum wage under Abacha was about N450 Naira and even workers were owed for months,
Exchange rate Abacha maintained a dual exchange rate N22 for banks and N74 naira for the public, so the banks were just getting cheap dollar and selling for profit, ASUU was on strike for an entire year when Bacha sacked all lecturers, that was the reason for no JAMB in 1996

You just provided evidence against your position. If minimum wage was N450 and the official exchange rate was N22, then workers were earning about $200. At the proposed minimum wage of N62000, workers will earn less than $50. Truly, Nigeria is in bizarre times.

No one was getting Dollar at #22, Only banks. The people were getting it at #70.

So 450 is just less than $7

The only problem then was scarcity of fuel,scarcity of kerosene most especially because 80% of households depended on it.
