This is 31yrs old Odoma Veronica from Benue State Oju LGA (igede by tribe) has been suffering in KIRIKIRI maximum prison since December last year.

According to what was narrated to Ukan Kurugh, her Uncle said "she was a cook of a certain big woman in Lekki by name Kimberly Laguda, she has informed the woman she wanted to stop the work since the woman won't pay or allow her go for Xmas/New Year to see her own children.

It was just after two days of stopping work that the madam called her to come and sign an undertaken for telling the other house help that the woman's 9 months old son will die"

That was actually where her problem began and she said the allegations are baseless because she had no reason to even say such thing to anybody. the woman again accused her of the missing Korean beads, a pair of shoe & Gold amounting to N15.5million.

The said big woman got her arrested and locked up before her poor uncle got to know what happened, the house help was charged to court and sent to Kirikiri prison since December last year. The uncle said he sold almost every of his little belongings to get a lawyer and all the 5 times the case came up, he discovered his lawyer appeared one time.
He got another Lawyer who has appeared twice but he can't go further due to financial constraints. The next adjournment is 18 July 2024 and he doubt about sponsoring his lawyer again. The woman had told the court she won't be around on the previous adjournment because she will be going back to London.

She basically has nobody to fight for her considering the fact the woman Na big madam and using her money to fight her way through. The uncle also told Ukan Kurugh he spoke to the woman one time and she said she can wave off her missing beads & gold but the girl must plead guilty to the shoe she took for everything to end but the man insisted her relative did not take anything out of her house since she was searched by the security men in her building before leaving on that fateful day.

I think government should step in and put in place legislation that will protect these girls from their wicked madams
