That's a term (among other terms) of the settlement. The settlement is so that the prosecution can be discontinued and he'll avoid a possible jail term.

From day one I knew that the 10 millionaire he paid was for his freedom. Nigeria laws are flexible so if you are someone the government hate then you will go for it.

Hope you also know that, "law" not really meant for everyone to taste jail. The most important reason for judgement is to make people remorseful, not even lighter offences.

In as much that Cubana and Bobrisk committed the same offence.

While Bob has become lunatic & bad influence on social media, Cubana still maintain rational behavior on social media.

Let us imagine for a minute that Cubana Chief Priest trade places with Bobrisky and the latter is the one given the option to pay N10M as fine and the former is the one languishing in Kirikiri. I am sure the usual set of ELERIBUs would have swarmed the internet claiming vicitmisation for the umpteenth time.

He can request for jail time instead of fine, it's within his constitutional right

Bobrisky went to prison because he pleaded guilty.
Once you plead guilty in any case, you'll have yourself to blame.

His lawyer should hv told him not to plead guilty, that way he will find way and time to escape the hook just like Obi Cubana did.

OBC pleaded not guilty and he was released on bail afterwards he went for out of court settlement.
