Have You Ever Met These Kinds Of Acquaintances? by chatinent(op):
Have you had this kind of acquaintance before?

So there's this guy who's an only son and has been through thick and thin. I knew him from where I had worked before. In fact, he was a gardener. I worked in the admin. The company didn't pay pretty much so everyone was managing...so how much more a gardener? They were paid between ₦15k to ₦22k.

Half bread is better than none, they say.

So I believe that these gardeners will seize any good opportunity they get.

And this particular guy did.

His aunt in Abuja seemed to care and secured him a dry cleaning shop (fully furnished with the basic amenities and even industrial utilities). During this period, chairman locked up and was balling. It was a good thing.

Fast forward to two years later. He came to me looking all worked out, hungry and all that.. and as you can guess, he came with stories. In fact this was when I knew he had a dry cleaning shop. He was big then that he had an apprentice working for him.

What happened to you then?

He narrates:

"Omo eh, it's a long story." (He then narrates how he left the being a gardener to owning the dry cleaning shop).

Eh hen, so what happened naw?

"So how it happened is that the person I bought the shop from contacted me." (This was when I also knew someone was running the shop before and he bought it from him. The full shop with equipment).

"The person contacted me make I come Benin say he go teach me work (yahoo yahoo). I had to sell my shop to my apprentice for ₦250k so I go fit dey fresh pull the journey. I also bought fairly used laptops."

(₦250k? Omo..is this boy sensible at all?).

"So me and my guy pulled up Benin. I bought a lappy for him too. As we pulled up, we met the guy, bought drinks and relaxed the night with two ash for me and my guy . And the guy also made us book for all of them."

All of them? Like how many?

"Like 12 boys o. Plus the room we lodged was ₦50k for me and my friend and also lodged one Deluxe room for that my guy wey say en go teach us work. Omo Na so we dey sleep those guys come meet us say make we buy them drinks so that in the morning we go begin go HK. I paid for the drinks. In fact I paid for everything cos the guy wey follow me come no carry money.

So in the morning, we were all dressed up and met them in the room they said we should wait. Before you know what's up, Timberland boys just bounced in along with that my guy wey wan teach us work on and collected all we had. Even the wristwatch, new shoes we bought, baggy jeans, big polo and laptops. Omg, na so we begin beg. We begged until the guy wey say make I come asked them to leave ₦10k for us from the remaining money with me. They collected everything. And they drove us out wearing shorts and singlets (jersey attire). Na so we begin trek just to reach tarred road so we go enter Keke go park begin come back immediately. When we got to the park, we don already pay for ticket na so some other group of boys waylaid us for park still come collect the remaining ₦7k for our hand. Same boys wey do the first one."

(Omo me don laugh tire by now).

.....

Lol. So what do you plan to do now?

"Omo, sir, I don't know what do to o. I was thinking if I go fit go meet that my apprentice."

..oh, you want to see if he'll sell the shop back to you?

"No o. Like I wan see if e go fit take me as apprentice for the time being."

,.....

Wtf .. Omo, Na so I take pursue am comot my shop. Which can foolishness be this.

They returned 10k to them, they entered keke to park booked a vehicle and they still came and collected the remaining 7k...hmmmm......

D guy sold his shop 250k and from my calculations, only the two laptops don swallow almost all the money, then I wonder where them get money book inly their two room 50k and still book rooms for 12 other persons, then Timberland guys came and collected money from them and still returned 10k to them...

Even the 2 loaves of bread and 5 fishes that jesus Christ used to feed 5000 people no multiply reach the 250k in your story..

Money is not everything. Otherwise, he would not have become stupid when he began to make money.

Some people are wise and disciplined when they are poor, and stupid when they are rich.
