You too will go to the eternal flames in the Qur'an for people who don't believe in the Qur'an
It is clearly proven that the god of the quran is not the God of this world, Who Rules, so, his talk is as empty as yours.

When we want to confirm something we know is this not the question we ask?
deep understanding of all what conspired in the story will reveal that John did not ask the question to confirm what he already know, though it appears so in Matthew 11:3.

Because
Matthew 11:11 Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.

That means, he is not even among the least in the kingdom of heaven.
Why wasn't he among the least in the kingdom of heaven?
Because he doubted

Because, whosever believe(not doubted) will have eternal life.
And were is eternal life?
The kingdom of heaven.

So, John did not attend the kingdom because he asked the question in doubt, and Jesus knew, that's why he didn't classify him among the least in the kingdom.

And consider that John may have expected Jesus to come and deliver him from prison but he didn't, that may cause him to doubt

You say deep understanding yet you do not state where you got your so called deep understanding.

Clear proof, its a creation of your mind, for clearly mathew 11:3 shows him just asking for a confirmation of what he aleeady believed., which as we all see Jesus answered him Saying.'do you not see..../do you not hear....?

After that, did he say anything again? No.

As i have always told you, your mind is mushed up and twisted.

that John the Baptist was among the least in the kingdom or what?
No my poiint is John already believed where you said "he lost he belief.

Then on the issue of position in the kingdom of God i believe that this is most stupid to consider because man is still at the stage of trying to qualify for the kingdom.

It is only those who were qualified to enter and live (work) in NNPC or Mearsk who worry about promotion and elevation.

All the God stuff you added to your post is mumbojumbo that blinds you to the facts you seem to already know.

If the officer in charge is as fair as you claim, and if you sleep on site, how would you possibly not be on the site by 7:40am and therefore be favoured?

Baldwretch:
Here is the thing. By 7:40am, when toolbox meeting starts, you should be there. If you are not in the site by 7:50am, you would not work for that day because the officer in charge would have assigned duties to all the independent contractors there at the time.

He added that I should move in with those contractors who sleep on site as they are also favoured.

what Jesus meant by the least person in God's kingdom is greater than John the Baptist is that, the least person who is a believer is greater than John the Baptist who didn't believe until he was eventually killed.
Thanks for checking in.

Please, understand and let me quote another translation to ease your understanding

Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.

Question: Who are them that are born of women? Humans. The human race. You cannot have it said more clearer. If you read the verse that precedes verse 11, Jesus was praising John, asking the people what kind of man they went into the wilderness to see.

Question: Who is he that is least in the kingdom of heaven? Since the hierarchy and order of divine beings is not known to me or to any of us, we would not speculate. It could after all be one of the 24 elders, an angel, or another of Heaven's inhabitants, but it can never be a human. The comparison and contrast is quite clear. He is comparing the most righteous human and Heaven dwellers.

paxonel:
It was never a thing of angels comparing with man.
I never said it was a comparison of angels with men. It was a comparison of the entire human race and the least of Heaven's dwellers. God calls himself the Lord of Host or the Lord of Heavens armies for a reason. There are more beings than we are aware of in Heaven. Some of higher rank and some, not so high. The cherubs, the seraphs, the commanders of Heavens armies, angels, angels of his presence, the 24 elders and many more. The comparison is between the least ranked, least righteous of these Heaven dwellers and the best, the finest of earth's inhabitant that has ever lived. That verse is very clear.

paxonel:
The kingdom of heaven is within us, that is what you have not understood
Wow, nice perspective, but God's kingdom in us is not a literally kingdom. It is the Holy Spirit. God's spirit in us, but even in old times, the prophets, anointed kings, and righteous men had God's spirit and that was long before Jesus came.
Re: Christians In The House, Do You Agree With This Line Of Thought. If No, Say Why. by Baldwretch(op): 6:43am On Jun 30, 2024
StillDtruth:
You have already mixed up everything.

First of,.Christ made that statement in Mathew 11:11 because of people like you.
Because of people like me who thinks he is righteous? You must be joking right because in actuality, I affirmed Christ statement and re-echoed Christ stance that the least of Heaven dwellers are greater and would always be greater than the best and finest of men based on that verse, so please, kindly explain why you think Christ made the statement because of me.

StillDtruth:
Secondly, when God judges, is it not man with man? How then do you judge man with angels?
I am not comparing man with angels. It betrays comparison. What metrics do we use? Righteousness, strength, service to God, what? Regardless of what we choose to use, men would have to lie low and hide his face. I am saying, angels have been in service to God for millions, perhaps trillions of years, or even perhaps for way longer than that. They have been found blameless in all their ways in that duration and have run errands for God successfully and faithfully. God is also faithful. Part of the divine government is his faithfulness. Man that is born yesterday, that is of few years, whose service to God is deficient and defective can never ever come close.

StillDtruth:
Thirdly, no man is going to heaven, it is heaven and earth 2.0 those qualified are going to.
Wherever God chooses to take the redeemed is not the problem, but it is important to know that you are not the only creature God created. You are not the most important and neither are you the most righteous or even the greatest.

Thanks for your kind reply. 🙂

My intention was not to undermine the office or roles of angels. Angels have been with God for aeons and are mirrors of his majesty and splendor. Angels are God's creatures, if not his first but I do wonder why man and not angels was made in God's image and likeness. Isn't this saying something about God that even angels are still prying into? Why would God make another creature like him, ain't the angels like him already?
Sorry yesterday I could not continue from where I stopped because of power outage.

You are making inferences from silence but that is untrue. Just because we’re not told a lot about angels at least in respect to their creation and nature doesn't mean we use the not argument. Some Angels were made in the image of God and this is quite evident when they run errands for God on earth. Most of the times earth dwellers do not easily identify some as angels except they carry out some interventionist acts. I would give you two examples.

1. When the angel of the Lord visited Manoah's wife the second time and she ran to tell her husband. Manoah approached the angel and asked questions. It wasn't until he placed the offering on the rock and the angel ascended in the fire that he realized that he was talking to an angel. In fact, the bible said Manoah didn't realize the man in question is an angel.

2. When Joshua sighted God's commander in the distance. As a warrior that he is, he asked the angel if he was for them or against them. This clearly does not look like an angel in his glory and that is why I laugh at all these UFO experts because when God sends messengers they look exactly human. Or what about the angels that insisted on sleeping in the public square in the days of lot.

My argument is that, if they are able to take human form on earth, they must have been made in God's image. If you still don't agree, I would point you to one book: the book of Ezekiel.

In Ezekiel 1 : 10; 10: 8. We read of the Cherubim, another class of angelic beings: Each had a human face in the front, the face of a lion on the right side, the face of an ox on the left side, and the face of an eagle at the back.... and what looked like human hands under their wings.

When you think of a creature having human face, you must think of a creature made in God's image. These beings have multiple images in them. You are not the only one made in God's image.

TimiRume:
Is Christ greater than the angels of God? Is he of a higher rank?
Christ has been made higher than the angels because of an errand he ran successfully more than 2000 years ago. In Daniel's prophecy, he sees a vision of Christ, but how he described him is not clear: son of man.

Daniel 7: 13: As my vision continued that night, I saw someone like a son of man coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient One and was led into his presence. 14 He was given authority, honor, and sovereignty over all the nations of the world, so that people of every race and nation and language would obey him. His rule is eternal—it will never end. His kingdom will never be destroyed.

And leave the only Bible book that has given a comprehensive summary of the Son and the angels (I'm aware that the angels were called sons of God too but that's not the type of sonship I believe we are looking at here or...?)[/quote]

TimiRume:
And leave the only Bible book that has given a comprehensive summary of the Son and the angels (I'm aware that the angels were called sons of God too but that's not the type of sonship I believe we are looking at here or...?)

Hebrews 1:1-14 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,

Hath in these last days spoken unto us BY HIS SON, WHOM HE HATH APPOINTED HEIR OF ALL THINGS , by whom also he made the worlds;

WHO BEING THE BRIGHTNESS OF HIS GLORY, and THE EXPRESS IMAGE OF HIS PERSON , and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;

BEING MADE SO MUCH BETTER THAN THE ANGELS , AS HE HATH BY INHERITANCE OBTAINED A MORE EXCELLENT NAME THAN THEY.

FOR UNTO WHICH OF THE ANGELS SAID HE AT ANY TIME, THOU ART MY SON , THIS DAY HAVE I BEGOTTEN THEE? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?
I have refrained from quoting the entire Hebrew passage you quoted. The origins of Jesus Christ is from the distinct past as I showed you from Daniel. Daniel saw Jesus. Even Daniel could not describe him, that is why he called him a son of man. And that is what the author of Hebrews is trying to tell the readers. I don't see how Jesus being greater than the angels means we are also greater than them. Jesus is from the everlasting past. Are we too? Jesus Has been in Heaven even before Daniel had this vision. Have we been in Heaven too? NO. But that is basically your argument.

You have to understand that Jesus is a resident of Heaven, one of Heaven's dwellers by the time Daniel sees his vision and way long before then. Like John puts it; In the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the word was God.

I am comparing Heaven dwellers and earth dwellers, not Heaven dwellers and Heaven dwellers or earth-bound Heaven dwellers and Heaven dwellers. You need to understand the difference.

I still stand by my stance. By virtue of many metrics, the least of Heaven dwellers cannot be compared with the most righteous man that has ever lived or will ever live.

Angels have been blameless in all their ways, running errands for God for aeons, upholding the divine laws and government, agreeable to the divine will. Holding court with His Majesty. This is not a trite matter. A creature of yesterday wants to also collect candy when his ogas have not collected. Oya collect na.

kindly explain why you think Christ made the statement because of me.
You guys do not remember that God reads our minds. Look at that chapter you would see that Mathew 11:7-15, ye would see that Jesus, deviates from His message.

Thus, why do you think He said what He Says in Mathew 11:11 and then you walked right into it by focusing on it?

Baldwretch:
I am not comparing man with angels. It betrays comparison. What metrics do we use? Righteousness, strength, service to God, what? Look at your words here, they betray you when you say you do not compare angels and men.

Even your TimiRume picked up on the angel comparison and you both ran with it, even now are ye arguing on it.

Baldwretch:
Wherever God chooses to take the redeemed is not the problem, but it is important to know that you are not the only creature God created. You are not the most important and neither are you the most righteous or even the greatest.
And this is also were you are in error. No one (that is no nornal person) thinks that they are the only creation of God.

But what we all think and know is that we are the ones in trouble and danger of God, which is why God Spoke and did many things for us upto giving us our begining and our end through the bible.

So we are focusing on ourselves to get out of God's harm and anyone who thinks below or beyond this, is on a frolic of their own

What Jesus was actually saying there is not your interpretation of it. What He meant was that of all men born of women (ie, of all men before Jesus came, such as prophets of old etc), John was the greatest. Now the least in the kingdom of Heaven is greater than John. Who are these? They are those that are not born of women, but those that are "born of the Spirit". He was saying there that the lowest Christian is greater than even any of the old time prophets, because whereas the Holy Spirit used to come upon them for specific duties, the Holy Spirit is always in us as children of God.

Let's understand it from here, may be it will give you a clearer picture of what Jesus meant by God's kingdom, then you can relate it to the issue of John the Baptist
Baldwretch:
Wow, nice perspective, but God's kingdom in us is not a literally kingdom

Actually, Jesus parables about the kingdom were not spoken literally, but the interpretation of these parables shows that the kingdom itself is literal and can be clearly understood what it was.
The kingdom itself is people(believers of Christ), and nothing more

Matthew 19:14 But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.

You can actually impersonify the kingdom of God.
You can say I'm the kingdom of God.
The kingdom of God is not anything more than you and i that is on this earth
It is the Holy Spirit. God's spirit in us
that is just it and nothing more.

This also implies that the kingdom is simply abstract, we cannot get anything from it but eternal life
, but even in old times, the prophets, anointed kings, and righteous men had God's spirit and that was long before Jesus came.
that God's spirit of the old, is a total different spirit entirely but not the holy spirit that came with Christ.
Otherwise he wouldn't have promise them a conforter and they will just maintain the old spirit which was never a quickening spirit, hence enternal life will be of no effect.

So, you can relate it now to John's situation.

Was John the Baptist part of those who who received the conforter in the book of Act?
The answer is no

Therefore he never stood the chance of being in God's kingdom.
So many prophets of the old too had wished to be privileged like us who have it.
Hence, the least person in God's kingdom(you and I) is greater than John and all the prophets of the old.

You are saying many conflicting things and it seems your ideas are conjured up. When Christ came to earth, one of his missions was to get as many people into the Kingdom of God. The Kingdom of God is an actual kingdom and must be understood as such. The kingdom itself is not people - believers of Christ, as you call it. It is an actual kingdom. Jesus talks of his Father's house having many mansion and all that. You cannot float another idea of the kingdom of God for whatever reasons. When Jesus said for of such is the Kingdom of God, he did not mean that the children in question are the kingdom of God.

In the Gospel accounts, Jesus had a very favourable opinion of little children. Another account give a more vivid description of what happened and adds that he that would not take the Kingdom of God like a little child would never enter it. I think it's the Gospel of Luke. In another incident, he told his disciples not to look down on little children because their angels are always in the presence of his heavenly Father. If you look at the life of little children, their innocence, their meekness, and all that, you would understand why Jesus' opinion of kids is high.

That said, how you can personify an actual kingdom; how you can say I'm the kingdom of God of God is what I don't understand.

God says in the prophecy of Joel that in the last days, he would pour out his Spirit upon all flesh and there would be signs. The main difference is that it was not poured out on all flesh in the past. God's spirit of old is a totally different spirit but not the Holy spirit of now? What an entirely crass and moronic thing to say? What? Are you for real? The Holy Spirit that fell on the day of Pentecost was poured out at different time in history on different people even King David acknowledged that he had the Holy Spirit and he said in his penitential Psalms after murdering Uriah: remember, he was anointed by Samuel.

Let me start from Verse 8:
Oh, give me back my joy again;
you have broken me—
now let me rejoice.
9Don’t keep looking at my sins.
Remove the stain of my guilt.
10Create in me a clean heart, O God.
Renew a loyal spirit within me.
11Do not banish me from your presence,
and don’t take your Holy Spirit from me.

Even King Saul had the Holy Spirit until God was displeased with him and an evil Spirit from God tormented him.

John didn't stand the chance of being in God's Kingdom and he disbelieved? Wow, your own faith is strong oo. grin grin grin grin grin grin

This is nice, but your interpretation is incorrect. First off, let's take a look again, so we understand Jesus opinion of John. Maybe I should quote the preceding verses. For context, John sent disciples to ask if Jesus was the messiah. When the disciples left, Jesus began talking about John to the crowd. This quotation is from the NLT.

7 “What kind of man did you go into the wilderness to see? Was he a weak reed, swayed by every breath of wind? 8 Or were you expecting to see a man dressed in expensive clothes? No, people with expensive clothes live in palaces. 9 Were you looking for a prophet? Yes, and he is more than a prophet. 10 John is the man to whom the Scriptures refer when they say,

‘Look, I am sending my messenger ahead of you,
and he will prepare your way before you.’

11 “I tell you the truth, of all who have ever lived, none is greater than John the Baptist. Yet even the least person in the Kingdom of Heaven is greater than he is! 12 And from the time John the Baptist began preaching until now, the Kingdom of Heaven has been forcefully advancing

There would never be another human saddled with John's responsibility. John is a prophecy of Jesus. A forerunner of Jesus. He had the Spirit of God in him. When Jesus talked of - all men born of women - he is talking of the human race; he meant all men whether rich or poor, wise or foolish, godly or ungodly, and most importantly born of flesh or born of the Spirit. All men should be understood as all who ever lived. You are the one making distinctions, not Jesus.

Please follow these bible facts carefully.
I am going to number the facts from 1 to 5 to it simplicity. where ever I'm wrong please let me know grin

many facts in the bible were written figuratively which they required literal understanding, so be careful grin

please think or meditate on these facts before responding

1. The book Genesis tells us that Adam and Eve sinned that's why people die today. But Christ came and restore back that eternal life. This is the whole summary of the bible

Romans 5:19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

2. That the way to this eternal life is FAITH. That is our believe in Christ.
But before Christ came to die, there were other Faiths on earth. For instance, there was Judaism which was the Faith God covenanted with Abraham

Hebrews 11:2 For by it(Faith) the elders(referring to elders of Jews) obtained a good report.(including Abraham)

3. That every tribes and kingdoms on earth have their own Faiths. For instance, most tribes or kingdoms in the old testament days practiced idolatry except the kingdom of Israel who who recognized the almighty God because of the covenant Abraham their forefather had with God

4. And that there were consistent battle among kingdoms. Since these kingdoms had their individual Faiths, these battles were seen by God as battle of Faiths(Spiritual battle)

Daniel 2:39 And after thee shall arise another kingdom inferior to thee, and another third kingdom of brass, which shall bear rule over all the earth.

4. That an everlasting Faith will be set up by God as prophesied by Daniel

Daniel 2:44 And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.

5. That the everlasting faith set up by God which was prophesied by Daniel is Christianity (the new covenant) which is the Christian faith and which is the faith that restore the eternal life that Adam and Eve lost out of disobedience from the beginning. Meaning, the everlasting kingdom implies everlasting life

Luke 1:33 And he shall reign over the house of Jacob(the Jewish tribe) for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.

The Jewish tribe is found on this earth right?

You're doing good. Yes, people die because God tested humankind in Adam, but Christ came to restore back that relationship we had with God in Adam, not eternal life. Just think about this: man was not created immortal from the start; if he was, there would not be a need for God to create another tree with a fruit called the Tree of life or immortality. This is something I realized later in life. It seems to me that Adam was on probation until God was satisfied with his piety and then God would take him on a journey of self-discovery.

I agree to a very large extent with what you wrote. In fact, Daniel 7 even makes it clear that Christ would rule forever, but I don't see any connection between an everlasting kingdom promised by God to Christ and how this kingdom implies everlasting life.

Ok, do you agree that Jesus is the founder of Christianity, that he founded Christianity the very day he resurrected after he was crucified.
Meaning that there was nothing like Christianity on earth until he died and resurrected?

We are still coming to the issue of John the Baptist
