Muhammadu Sa'ad Abubakar was born on August 24, 1956, in Sokoto. He became the 20th Sultan of Sokoto, the spiritual leader of Nigeria's Muslims. His father, Sir Siddiq Abubakar III, also held this important position for over fifty years.

Abubakar attended Barewa College in Zaria and later joined the Nigerian Defence Academy. He started his career in the military and rose to the rank of brigadier general before retiring in 2006. During his military service, he commanded troops in Chad and Sierra Leone.

In 2006, Abubakar became Sultan after his brother's death. He now leads the Qadiriyya Sufi order and oversees key Islamic organizations in Nigeria. As Sultan, he plays a vital role in guiding religious affairs and promoting unity among Muslims in Nigeria.

Her name is princess Fatima. She is married to the son of the former Bauchi State governor Isa Yuguda.

Usman Sa’ad Abubakar, son of the sultan, was reportedly driving at a very high speed in his Lexus within Sokoto Airport Road when the crash happened. It was claimed that the caused of the accident was overused of drugs.
