Depends on the level of insults and embarrassment you label as "rebuke/discipline." The church elders have to be careful and apply wisdom in the way they discipline their pastors, especially when it is being done openly, because it can get to some extent that even the younger believers who look up to that pastor will not see any hope for themselves, or will likely not report themselves for "correction" when they themselves make mistakes.

People who hold leadership positions in church must be made to understand the responsibility they carry. Your reckless lifestyle can make tens of thousands lose interest in Christianity. So, you must learn self-discipline and self-control.

Listen, sex is all about knowing how to control your mind and understanding that you have willpower. You don't need any holy spirit to guide you. If you know how to take control of your life and choices, even if Agbani Darego goes naked before you in a room, you will just tell her to put on her clothes. Will your third leg be aroused, definitely! Will you make move to sleep with her, this is where willpower comes in.

The church has the right to take the decision they took. There are certain things that shouldn't be condone in a place of worship such as in the case of brother K, albeit it should be done with love.

Every person you see in the church from the top to bottom is not a saint, everyone is striving unto perfection.

The only mistake brother K made was leaving the church while under a disciplinary action. Irrespective of public or private rebuke.

If any Christian suffer in any circumstance ( be it for persecution, or for his sins) let hime endure it

If the suffering is that of shame resulting from his mistakes/sins, his ability to endure the shame and heal on the process makes him a strong christian.

Many people do not like to face the shame resulting from their mistakes. But it's actually the will of God that the sinner endure shame and thereby prove the genuineness of his repentance and get restored.
If he does that, even God will promote him into a greater servant and he will use his experience to admonish others.

All these pentecostal churches and theatrics. Everything must be done before the church audience or congregations. Someone would be asked to come before the church's congregation and make a confession or give testimony.

In Bible context, he is a youth leader. They even give people younger than him titles like papa, Bishop etc on campus. He literally enjoys all the honour attached to being a leader so should be ready for the rules, not just the fun part. There are others like him who have survived and come back better. He gave in to discouragement.
