I totally support this. This is not peculiar to Lagos alone. The unfortunate thing is that they usually commit this act during heavy rainfall so that the current can help to flush them out. I remember seeing a shop owner disposing his waste inside a gutter. When I confronted him, he did as if what I was saying doesn't concern him. Punishment isn't just enough. There's need for government to address this problem using other means of communication different from the mass media. Before you start punishing them, make sure the lagos state waste disposal management is working. I have lived in lagos. Weeks, you hardly see them. Bin is overflowing and cholera outbreak may happen. When you work, people will start doing the right thing. 6 Likes |

These same people ll complain about the flood and seek government intervention I once corrected a woman dropping her baby diapers in a drainage about the implications of her actions, she went further to make sure the diapers and other refuse went straight into the drainage, her response was "make e pain you well well" I just nodded my head in dismay 7 Likes |
