Being in court is one thing; being in detention is something else entirely. If you read the law, a person on trial does not need to be in detention during all of that. He can equally come from home to his case when he needs to be especially since he has, to date, not been formally charged with any actual crimes requiring his detention.

Again, you cannot call for illegal acts to be used in the process of obtaining justice. That is counterintuitive and only serves to belittle your very constitution. Even criminals have rights... yes, it is stated in your constitution that every Nigerian has rights that ought to be respected. Abiola's arrest happened under military rule. We are talking here of an arrest made under a democratic government that ought to respect the Constitution first and foremost no matter what.
