CIS in Lekki has become a nightmare.
My kids attended school only monday, tuesday and friday last week. The school just sent a notification on their app saying SUVs have to use the main gate and saloon/sedans go through the Amore road entrance.
Unfortunately the flood is more as a result of climate change and Lagos is sitting on the coast.
Its only going to get worse.
Spending millions on school fee yet the flood wont let them into school.
Moving them back to the UK is might just be best for them now.
Cant be getting calls everyday about flood.
I no wan hear say shit happen

That's why I am all for demolition of illegally constructed buildings blocking drainages. Mr Tokunbo Wahab should increase the tempo. These are good justifications.
Seems like you are more concerned about how people disturb flood than how flood disturb people. May God judge your wicked heart.

Although I'm not the one you quoted, but I beg to differ... I've seen areas in Lagos that were very prone to flooding, but ONCE demolitions and construction of drainage was done, the flooding became a thing of the past, e.g check out Gbagada area, around Deeper Life church, after the necessary things were done there, flooding became a thing of the past, even with the undulating topography... Same applies to some estates here in Ayobo
My younger brother lives in Gbagada and I can tell you that Gbagada is also affected, you can confirm from anyone living there.
Even well planned estates in Lekki like Pinnock, Megamond, VGC are not left out.
I lived in Amuwo where they don't have issues of illegally erected structures but still suffers heavily from flooding, Mile 2 estate built by Jakande government is often submerged during the raining season, Satellite Town is also not left out, the whole Alimosho areas are covered already, I don't even want to start talking about Aguda/Surulere.
Lagos as a whole is below sea level and also surrounded by body of water especially Ojo axis where you have sea water that run from CMS to Cotonou, if you like demolish all the houses in Lagos State these areas will still be flooded.
Victoria experience heavy flooding yearly despite not having issues of illegal structures on waterways.

This picture is Shadia Estate in Sholuyi, Gbagada this morning.

I did my analysis last year on dangote refinery(Global Warming) and the ever rising population but they didn't listen as usual.

Welcome to Extreme Global Warming & Enjoy the reap of your seeds.

This year rainfall will be very massive.

Seems to be a flood proned area ... why were they even allowed to build there by the administration? ... and didn't the property owners don't ,do their homework?

The notice sent by the school .... that can't be a good school with such poor English in an official notice. These schools really and staff really need to be inspected for qualifications. Parents paying for their children to learn rubbish .

undecided, raining season is the best time to prospect and buy properties in Lagos and Port Harcourt else those agents will sell you a water logged and flood prone areas at exorbitant prices..... heartless agents and most are very religious grin cheesy grin cheesy

This is becoming a yearly occurrence, is it that black man isn't capable of finding solutions to lingering issueshuh
If you know what to look out for you can tell a house that is prone to flood even if you are buying it during the dry season

All the estates in Nigeria are not built well........ grin grin

Everytime small rain fall the occupants will start running helter skelter looking for dry land...... grin grin grin

I wonder who are the contractors....... grin grin grin grin

How will the foundation of a house be lower than the road level, plus no heed is paid to the steepness of the land........... grin grin grin grin

Me I dey chase water give other people...... grin grin grin grin grin

Before I build I check the level of my neighbors, then I make sure the foundation is 5ft tall before German floor, thus chasing all my water to my neighbors........this is the real I pass my neighbor.......... grin grin grin grin grin grin

There's no flood in the UK?
How about the heat waves in the summer?
Do you know how many times I couldn't go for lecture due to snow?

You've said it - climate change, and it's affecting every part of the globe. UK is not excluded!

You are financially buoyant enough to send your own children to UK, what about those who don't have such financial capability?
