A research that taught monkey how to use money had to end because some monkeys started using their money to carry Olóṣó (prostitutes).

So, in 2005, economist Ken Chen and Psychologist Laurie Santos, both of Yale University, taught capuchin monkeys the concept of money. It took them several months. They gave each of these monkeys 12 silver discs with holes in them. Then, they introduced different foods such as Jell-O cubes, grapes and apple to them at different prices.

They were tested with price drop and price rise. When the foods were of similar prices, the monkeys went for the sweetest (apple). Later the price of Jell-O was dropped and that of apple increased. The monkeys would buy apple even at an expensive rate when they have money. But when they're "low on cash," they go for Jell-O so that they can get many at a little price. Monkeys dey budget...nice one!

They were exposed to different other concepts such as gambling and so on. Soon, some of the monkeys started stealing money belonging to others but that wasn't the craziest.

Chen noticed one day that some male monkeys were giving their silver disks to the female for mating. The female would in turn exchange the "money" for good food (apple).

They had to quickly pull the plug on this project because they don't want monkeys to learn this and get used to it. If this happens, it might disrupt the way mating normally occurs between them in nature.

Monkeys are capable of doing anything humans can do (in their own ways) if given the same platform.

They have good interpersonal communication skills and research have shown that, the eyes of some speeches of monkey can identify more colours than humans with multidimensional views.

Naturally, weakest among these creatures are 5 times agile than man with clearcut accuracy in executing tasks.

Monkeys are wonderful creatures.

1. If the concept of money is perfectly introduced to some animals in their own environment, would it change their known behavioural pattern?

2. Some animals are so socially inclined and well organised with hierarchy, order and norms. Would concept of money affect them positively or negatively?

The love of money is truly the root of all evil. These saying is not limited to humans alone.
