Yes as long as you have your BRP work visa , you just register on Gov.Uk site , the registration goes to your council.

Well, the royal family don't really have that power any longer, only what the parliament allows. The English revolution brought about a constitutional monarchy and that has created a balance of power- Monarch, PM, parliament.

UK obviously needs the monarchy for many reasons and could easily have got rid of them like the French. Saying that, no democracy is perfect and many don't like the exclusivity of the royal family.
