So you want to tell me that, as a worker, you should praise your employer for paying you your deserved wages, and also described it as an achievement on the part of your employer.
I'll show my gratitude with my productivity on-the-job; now tell me as a pensioner in Abia, rivers or benue states will you be celebrating the non-payment of your pension?

These Bush babies and crying, their brain is wired to cry and be sad to good news.
These wereys can abuse lagos if nothing is done and if something is also done they will still see it as nothing. Whereas they're celebrating ordinary Sand filling on the road in ther stares.. Bincha cry babies

Good. Are you now going to describe it as an achievement on the part of the employer for paying you your deserved wages?

Yes, as far as I, as a pensioner, am able to cater for my bills. Do you have a problem with responsibility? You've asked me a question, and I answered, but you're ignoring my own question. Are you saying you're better off in a state where pensioners go to bed hungry?

Best Governor that governs with the fear of God . Others are owning pensioners their head earned savings .. God will surely punish them and their generations to come

I was shocked to hear of pensioners backlog in Lagos when it is not Osun. Even Oyo state is not owing since the current governor came on board.
WeirdAlien:
Certainly one or more of your friends (Tinubu, Fashola, Ambode) or even you owed those pensions. How did that even happen considering the IGR Lagos boasts of, if not wickedness.
Imagine owing 2,000 retirees for only God knows how long. Some would have been dead.

It is not an achievement. It is simply your obligation as a debtor to pay the people you owe.
Re: Sanwo-Olu: We Have Cleared All Pension Backlog In Lagos by Blazetrailer: 9:50am On Jul 05, 2024
What a daft response.
The question is, should pension or salaries be owed at all. Answer is a big NO. In the midst of wasteful spending, bloated cost of governance, brazen corruption, glatin misappropriation of funds, etc..salaries or pension shoukd not be owed. They are first draws from any government's revenue and ifbthey can't pay the better alternative is to reduce the workforce, simple. In a case where you applaud abgovernore for doing what should have been done is akin to celebrating mediocrity/ckuelessness. Not with the revenue Lagos state government makes. Ask him if the pension of former political officers are owed and you won't hear anything from Lagos state government. But you are here jubilating over payment of old and long-delayed pension to the common people.

To underscore your stupidity and point out your shallow depths of reasoning, I am not even Igbo, not every person wallows in ignominy to celebrate mediocrity and backwardness in the namr of an achievement. No wonder criminals find their ways to power when the people are this daft. A country truly begets the leader it deseves.

ObiPandora:
I hope you read where your Igbo governor Alex Otti can't even pay worker's minimum wage talk more of pensioners.

I can bet Abia n Anambra are owing over 10 years pension as at July 5. That should be the achievement you should be celebrating.

And Abia state labour party governor busy lying to pensioners undecided
Don't mind his mumu followers. Someone who can't implement the current minimum wage of 30k. Pensioners protested the other day, and those mumu said he inherited them and he can't pay for now. Did Sanwo olu not also inherited it too. He might end up like Obaseki cos Obaseki will carry little project and blow it up with grammer's. If you have not visited Edo state before, you will think everywhere is edarado because of what Obaseki and his subjects made you to believe. Only few development we hear are mostly from Aba. Let them continue to hype him.

Oyo — N36bn
In Oyo State, NUP’s Secretary, Segun Abatan said: “Government was owing retirees N43 billion as at 2008.’’
It was learned that Governor Seyi Makinde had paid N10 billion of the amount, in compliance with a court directive.

“N3 billion was the amount of gratuity owed retired primary school teachers and local government pensioners. He has paid from 2008 to 2014. He still has nine years to pay,” Abatan said.

Lagos pensioners have always enjoyed prompt payment. We hope other states owing pensioners take a cue.

Do the following:
1. Go and find out the difference between Pension and Gratuity.

2. Go and find out what determines what a worker gets in terms of benefits even after donkey years in service.

3. Go and find out the grade your relatives joined the civil service with and the grade the retired on.

4. Since you are obviously not from Lagos, go and find out the situation with retired workers in your own state.

5. Be bold to mention your own state for perspective reasons.

Thank God the backlogs of the Pensions have now been cleared and Congratulations to all Lagosians- who ensure,as Politicians are not to be Trusted!
• In Similar manners, some Old Generation-BANKS - are having Backlogs of-GRATUITIES and PENSIONS to be paid to their Workers because -they run to Courts- to cause unnecessary delay in the Payments of what belongs to the Workers, who have Spent their Youthful age to work tirelessly for these Banks.
•Nigeria is a land of anything goes and the Judiciary should not give room,as one holding for these thieving Bank -Executives - who are using different gimmicks and paying different lawyers - for delay, by holding their Staff to ransom, for delay is denial!
•Same For Abuja PENCOM!

First of all, I am a Lagosian (Epe). You only think this is an achievement because other Governors are awful.
Pension should not be owed by any state or Federal Govt. When you are used to suffering 1k would seem like a million.
It is still not worth celebrating.

Because I criticised Lagos means I'm Igbo, or I celebrate Abia? Have you ever seen anywhere I mentioned Abia/Otti, ever? It's very annoying because I'm pure Yoruba.
Even if I did celebrate Abia (which I never did), does that make what Lagos is doing right?? Are the two states' revenue comparable?

The political class have reduced everyone to beggars, for what is your right, you will be praising them for giving you a small portion of it.

The way anybody who criticised Buhari was tagged "enemy of Nigeria", same way anybody who criticised Tinubu is Igbo now.

It's even a waste of time debating with you guys because "Zombie no go think unless you tell am to think" (in Fela's voice).

It's just a pity that we are celebrating the fact that you paid elderly people what you were owing them. Who do you blame for the backlog? PDP? At least it's been AC/AD/APC for the past 25 years! Shameful!

Tankio.. Dont mind them. Same godfather, same political structure. Same same party in the last 25yrs..

Same way they have built Lagos, yet there is nowhere in lagos where you can get portable drinking water from waterboard tap and pipe.
