mrvitalis:Excuses, Excuses Excuses. Monkeys with spaghetti for Brains How many people in Ghana, South Africa, Kenya, India, Bangladesh, Rwanda, And other 3rd world countries can pay for constant light? Don't those countries above have constant light? Is it not when you pay for the light you get the light? Abi is the light payment after service? You're just a disgrace to humanity. Wonder why Darwinism haven't taken care of you. |

@OP You're very correct.. the inadequate supply of power has contibuted so much to the slow development of our economy. What do you think is the way forward?.. consider size and some inner areas e.g creeks. |

mrvitalis:metering exists. Plus even with the current price if 225 per unit, it's impossible for a regular family to accumulate such an astronomical bill unless they are running a factory in their bedroom. With constant electricity, companies will cut expenses by a long mile as they wouldn't spend on diesel and generator maintenance. Standard of living will improve, quality of life will skyrocket as hospitals, schools and other public facilities will run almost seamlessly. |

| Re: Constant light will solve many problems in Nigeria by Sheuns(m): 11:27pm On Jul 06, 2024 |
mrvitalis:If this is how you calculate and run your business, I’m sorry to say you’re terrible at it. Steady power supply beats generator usage hands down. I have an office in a shopping complex in Lagos. There is no national power there at all. We used to run generators daily. Before the hike in fuel price, I used to spend 10k weekly and about 40k monthly on petrol. When fuel prices came up to about 600/l you can imagine how much we spent on fuel weekly. An independent solar company came and installed solar panel and inverters in every shop and office. Currently we spend 20k on power monthly. Some spend less, some spend more. Depends on your consumption. If NEPA can guarantee steady supply of electricity, I will choose it over use of generators over and over again. It’s cheaper, cleaner and better. |

| Re: Constant light will solve many problems in Nigeria by mrvitalis(m): 11:39pm On Jul 06, 2024 |
babasolution:Lol transportation? Is it cheap is not it's affordable to you because u are rich When you are rich enough 200k a month for power wont be a big deal |
| Re: Constant light will solve many problems in Nigeria by MrEverest(m): 1:05am On Jul 07, 2024 |
mrvitalis:Sometimes your argument can be quite annoying. What are you even talking about? You mean Nigeria is so poor that it can't afford regular power supply? Something that almost every country take for granted today? You believe that running noisy, environmentally-damaging, expensive and unreliable generator is a better alternative? FYI, electricity is not so expensive in other countries. People switch on appliances when their is need and switch them off afterwards to save energy costs. Having power whenever you need it is what makes economies to run efficiently and grow. With constant sunlight, natural gas and dam-able water bodies, Nigeria should be able to generate very affordable power if only the country is run competently. Many countries don't have all these in abundance yet they generate constant power for their people. |
| Re: Constant light will solve many problems in Nigeria by mrvitalis(m): 1:27am On Jul 07, 2024 |
MrEverest:Who take electricity for granted? Those African countries that have power ask them how much they pay |
| Re: Constant light will solve many problems in Nigeria by babasolution: 7:43am On Jul 07, 2024 |
mrvitalis:It's affordable because many poor people can access and use public transport |
| Re: Constant light will solve many problems in Nigeria by Sheuns(m): 8:01am On Jul 07, 2024 |
mrvitalis:I use prepaid meter at home. I don’t turn on all my appliances at once. Most of the time what I have on is my refrigerator, one or two fans, a few light bulbs etc. My refrigerator is inverter type (consumes very little electricity), TV is energy saving type, light bulbs are all energy saving. I do not recharge every month because one recharge takes me through 3 months. |
