The residents of Chiranchi, Dorayi, and surrounding communities in Kano metropolis staged a protest today, Monday 8th July, against President Bola Tinubu-led federal government over the hardships incurred as a result of hyperinflation and hunger. The protesters, chanting anti-government songs, carried placards bearing inscriptions, including: 'Tinubu Must Go,''End Bad Governance in Nigeria,' and 'Nigerians Are Hungry, ''We Say No To LGBT+ in Nigeria,' among others. N.B.: MY PERSONAL OBSERVATION Would these guys (I mean Muslim Northerners, most especially Hausas and Fulanis), protest if the president is their kinsman they liked? I said "their kinsman they liked" because I'm pretty sure if the president is not close-minded, conservative, religious fanatic, regional or ethnic bigot like them , they won't support him. People like Atiku Abubakar would never get the full support of majority of Northerners, especially in the North-west region. To drive my point, by the way, the only "sin" Atiku was his utterance when the Western troops, led by the US, apprehended and hung Sadam Hussein, former president of Iraq. What Atiku said at that time was: "Ba a amsa addu'a, da ana amsawa, da Sadam ya yi nasara a kan America da kawayenta," meaning "Nobody answers any prayer, if not so, Sadam would have won the war with the US and its allies." Atiku made the comment due to massive, intense prayers conducted throughout the Muslim countries for Sadam to emerge victorious from the war. But despite the prayers, he was defeated, arrested, and killed by the troops of the "enemies." The Northerners, especially in Hausas and Fulanis dominated states such as Kano, Katsina, and Kaduna, did sit-in protests during President Goodluck Jonathan of blessed memory over insecurity,. They not only refuse to protest bad governance under Buhari, but they even supported him during the 'End SARS' protests. Isn't this fresh Kano protest a hypocrisy?

They kept quiet when buhari their brother was the president. Even buhari himself looked the other way while his fulani herdsmen brothers were causing destruction from Katsina to Benue and Zamfara. |
