Will The Hardship Reduce? The Honest Truth by Jagabanbattle(op): 9:11am On Jul 09, 2024
I’ve seen people complaining about hardship and government officials trying to calm them down. My brothers and sisters, the honest truth is nothing will get better, you have to adapt to the current situations on ground.

I believe Nigerians who have traveled outside the country understand better. We Nigerians have been living as “Government Child” right from day one. This has made us think that everything should be cheap. The sad reality of life is nothing is cheap anywhere in the world. From Benin Republic down to Kenya, down to USA and UK.

Nigeria government has been feeding Nigerians through subsidy for long. Now that subsidy is removed, what we are facing now is expected. If any government official tell you that government will do something about this, ask him/her if the government is planning to provide subsidy on electricity and petroleum products. Without subsidy, this is how we will keep living.

Around the world you are talking about, they create conducive environment to make money before government taxes out of that money.
In Nigeria we provide our own light, water and security and you believe Nigerian government has the right to tax us to death.
Fuel subsidy was the only welfare program of the government that everyone benefited but instead of securing the program against corruption they canceled it and replaced it with palliatives which never gets to the people.
Nigerian situation is unique to Nigeria so no sense in comparing it with other countries where the society works.

Be smart with your smartphones. There are subsidies in USA.
Stop writing what you don't know!

Unfortunately, you demand others to be smart but you are not smart. US government does not subsidize what citizens buy directly. Instead, they subsidize their producers. No where in the sane world will government pay subsidy for every liter of gasoline the citizens buy.

Don’t go and find work to do. If there’s no work, make you enter farming. No one is preaching hardship. Life itself is hardship.

You are the obvious one that is not smart.
What is the purpose of giving subsidies to producers? To increase price of goods? Babablu bulabu.

This is where you are missing the point. Government should provide the enabling environment and watch Nigerians flourish. That is why Nigerians excel in these developed countries.
It's the primary responsibility of government to provide the enabling environment for its citizens to prosper. No light, no water, no security, no good roads, multiple taxation by federal government, state government, local government and even agberos and you expect to succeed in such environment without cutting corners?
While defending the government (your choice and your right), know that at least for now they are doing badly.

They give subsidy to keep the producer in market and reduce unemployment. This subsidy absence is why producers are closing in Nigeria.

This is internet where fool claims to be smart. Enjoy

Are their parents not Nigerians. They are also affected by government ineptitude. Nigerians are not looking for handouts but provide the enabling conditions for people to make money.
