This present crops of the NLC are just cruising with Nigerians, for they are just too naive of the Economics dynamics as far as inflation is concerned!
Assuming, they are running a business Organisation, would they pay this nonsense Salary Proposal from their Pockets every Month, throughout the Year, just to make the Workers believe they( NLC ) are trying for them!
The simple economic model is that, you don't use high wages,as Solutions for hyper Inflation but by more Productivity activity, you overcome inflation.
• What the NLC should get the govt commitments to expand the Economic Development in Sector-By -Sector Production and give a time-lag for realisations of the agreement 🤝.
•e g when is NEPA/ DISCOS going to be giving Nigerians 24/7 Constant Lights?
•When will the Refineries set to be Functional - for Nigerian Youths to be Employed and the Masses to have the feelings of enjoying the God giving Natural Resources of our Crude Oil?
Anyway, the NLC leaders are after their Dues ,as they can't fight for the Workers!

That statement of yours should serve as a major indictment against the government, and not a reason for Labor to pull back on its demand. If the government cannot even pay its workers a decent wage of at least $157 a month even after spending so many billions of dollars to supposedly improve the lives of the very same people, then that government needs to be uprooted, don't you think? undecided
We are not spending dollar in Nigeria, we are spending Naira, so be realistic. That the exchange rate is bastardised does not mean that the value of our local goods are bastardised too. Our goods still maintain a measure of price independence not attached to your dollar value.

FG does not want to pay any minimum wage for now I think. Maybe by next year they might come up with something. But right now, I can't see any sign of seriousness in them. They would rather want to pay the flat ₦35,000 palliative than pay the yet to be decided minimum wage because of the cost implications.

Honestly speaking, if you have money to create additional 7 states at this times and the benefactors are happy despite the times we are in, then Labour has every right to stand on N250,000!

For me ooo, anything that cannot buy a full bag of rice shouldn't be considered as minimum wage.

100k is ok for now.

Use your brain. Such increase will create more problems especially for the larger population not employed Even those that will benefit from it will still cry its not enough.

House rent will double or triple. School fees will rise. Cost of food items will soar. Don't be shocked if bag of rice gets to 150k. Cup of garri will cost N500. One cube of sugar N5. I could go and on.

I am not against increase but not by that wide margin once. It can start from 60k. After a while 100k. etc.
. Common stop saying this rubbish, wen the politicians are wasting money u didn't say this. They av all increase their fat salaries collecting millions of naira

It's a logical discussion or decision

Joe Ajaero and his friends are a bunch of unrealistic humans! Minimum wage should be 80k. If you don't like it, get a second stream of income. Nobody should depend on one source of income
many states Will not be able to pay what they are asking,it will lead to downsizing of workers, thereby worsening the already bad unemployment situation in the country

Maybe you don't get me well.
This is not any endorsement of the goverment position.
Tinubu is an unmitigated disaster. For anyone to be worse than Buhari should tell you enough about the present president.
Infact, this present almost worthless wage is a direct result of the mess Tinubu created with floating of the Naira and removal of fuel subsidy.
My point is that whatever minimum wage he implements now,the higher the worse will the economic situation in Nigeria get,if nothing is done about making the naira more valuable.
If minimum wage for example becomes 250k,rice will jump to 300k and prices of other goods and services will increase drastically so that informal sector workforce can meet up.
But make naira 700-800/$ for example with prices where they are now, then a 62k wage will make a bit of sense and there won't be massive sacking, retrenchment of workers and collapse of businesses
