how on Earth is that judgement targeting fubara? you are sure a better soul, sour loser.

this is a win win for us all and democracy, rather than fight for good governance and a better state of the nation, you are here playing the tune and cards of those destroying the nation.

you need to understand what politics, good governance and political ideology are before meddling in it's conversation.

Why singling out Fubara? Why no pretend? How can fg control election that will be controlled by the Governor?

APC damages brain thinking cells, so you have shown that APC has been manipulating Nigeria elections and determines who gets what?
Here lies the argument, if there's going to be election it will be conducted by INEC, and the most important factor is he who plays the piper dictate the tone.

Federal is paying and the tone will be set by federal.

The funny thing about my kogi state is this, no elected chairmen, no caretaker committee chairmen and all the 21 local government treasurers were relocated to Lokoja by ex governor belo since 2015. So where does kogi stand in all of this?

The fact that Agbadorians are jubilating on the Supreme Court ruling because they think it will ONLY affect Rivers State is laughable.

- Rivers State is not the only state currently running a CT system in Nigeria.

- Rivers State Electoral Commission has already fixed LG elections for Oct.2024 & not INEC.

- Rivers State is a very rich state & Gov. Sim can still fund/pay the caretaker chairmen till Oct. when the LG elections would be conducted by Rivers State Electoral commission .

- Many poor State Governors (especially in the North, South west ) who are currently running a caretaker chairmen system would revolt & would not implement the Supreme Court ruling because if they do, no money for them again.

- Not all elected local government chairman would betray their Governors. Dem go just dey chop Tinubu federal government money but dem go still pledge alliegence to their governors at the end.

-Wike, when he became Governor in 2015, dissolved democratically Elected local government chairman and seized their allocation and now he is currently the savior and messiah of Agbadorians
The day Wike will start fighting Tinubu, dem go change their mouth as usual.
Pathetic peoplehuh
What do you mean they will not implement huh

Their allocations will be withheld until they do... grin

At least, only one person in the state won’t be taking everything. Local governments at local levels will have more money and more relevance. People will now be interested in becoming LGAs Chairmen and councillors. The local government chairman of my area lives two streets away from me. We can easily see what comes to the council after every FAAC meeting. Organizing community members to beat him up if he start stealing the money shouldn’t be difficult. That’s the essence of the councils. Bringing government to the grassroots
You sound like a looter and a vagabond
So what of other citizens who do not live two streets away from the LG chair? Will they have the same chance to easily see him?
Besides, what makes you think the LG chair will continue to live close to you when better money touches his hands. What makes you think he will not find his way to transcorp or Sheraton claiming he is meeting with investors or go build himself a proper mansion among the nouveau rich.
Lastly, what makes you think you will have the chance to get close to him with your fellow rascals who want to beat him and not be riddled with bullets from security agents who will be guarding him with LG funds. You are simply living in a fool's paradise

It's not jubilation, it's a statement of facts, the fact that the judgement came few months after Fubara triumphant in removing the OLD ELECTED CHAIRMEN without giving them the 6 months additional tenor approved by SHA makes it look suspicious that it was aimed at RIVERS.
You don't have sense so don't comment on Rivers State politics.
FUBARA DID NOT REMOVE THE FORMER ELECTED CHAIRMEN. THEIR 3 YEAR TENURE ENDED AND THEY UNLAWFULLY EXTENDED THEIR TENURE TO 6 MONTHS WHICH IS AGAINST THE CONSTITUTION OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA.

Do you even have one?
After reading all that was written here must everything boil down to APC being favoured by this ruling? Did you not see that most of the states that displaced elected LG chairmen are APC?

You dont get it, State Gov controls election, still subject to the power of the Authentic state house of Assembly in Rivers and Court orders, But after election those that won are at the Mercy of the FG.....Learn how to comprenhend with open mind.
To comprehend your write up is harder than Tinubu’s economy . do you know the number of LGs in Nigeria ?

You should open your mind instead . The reason most Governors perform abysmally is because they control the resources of the LGs thereby destroying democratic principles in the LGs . Have you ever asked yourself why in governorship elections, candidates lose local govts areas , win the state general election and punish the
LGs by not doing a single thing there in 8 years ? Let the LGs vote across parties and let the LGs not need the governors to bring development

I am jubilating not because I am an APC supporter but because this is a step further to true democracy. Not because of Rivers whatsoever.
Then regarding your point about states govs in the North revolting, they will revolt against who, exactly?
Are they more in number than their own people?

You people are so shameless that you don’t even know when to hide your faces in shame

Your assertion is wrong , the judgement does not imply that the FG controls the third tier of government but it grants financial autonomy to them and to benefit from it ,they must be elected and not selected.

Bolded above, You are aware that the Appeal court approved RHA under Amaewhule will not grant the fund request
Appeal court has never recognized Amaewhule as the speaker or member of the house of assembly.
Appeal court only ruled that the previous court that entertained the matter(Rivers State high court) lacked the competent jurisdiction to entertain the matter and that the matter should be taken to the right court which is the Appeal court. The appeal court never reinstated the former 27 lawmakers.
BE INFORMED.

Guy las las na sawdust and sperm full your brain sha..

The only way it could hurt Fubara much is if they seize Rivers state allocation completely.

If I were Fubara I would run with caretaker for another 6 months and fund them from my huge Rivers allocation...

After 6 months when I have fully uprooted Wike's people from control of the LGA grassroots I will conduct the election and receive my allocation.

6 months loss of LGA revenue won't hurt Rivers much..

I know you know this but you just choose to deceive your old age.

Kudos to the PBAT and his cabinets for finally making this come through...

With this development - I perceived more development within the local government and across the Nation. The state government will not be taking glory alone and, blaming the FG directly and indirectly on some infrastructural developments and social amenities. The state government will now not use the local government to deceive the people within the localities again.

I pity some local government chairman tomorrow and in the future - if you failed to execute projects after receiving the monthly allocations. Protest is loading heavily on them. Some of the security agencies within the local government may look away if they are not properly taken care of in terms of logistics.

There are three tiers of government in Nigeria viz: federal, state and local.

It's an aberration and an affront on democracy for State Governors to see LGs as their apron strings or emasculate them by tampering with their funds or removing democratically elected Local Government Chairmen.

Next would be to dissolve State "Independent" Electoral Commissions.

State Governors must allow the Local Governments to function unimpeded just as the Federal Government allows States to function unimpeded.
