Officials of the Kano State Hisbah Board
The Katsina State Hisbah Board has banned prostitution, gambling, wearing of knickers while riding on tricycle and okada, among others.

This is contained in an order signed by the Commandant of the Board, Sheikh Aminu Usman and issued to Arewa PUNCH on Monday in Katsina.

According to the Commandant, the order is part of efforts by the Katsina State Government to instil morality among the people, especially the younger ones.

The order read in parts: “In its efforts to restore sanity and discipline in Katsina State, the reputable agency has come up with the new laws as below:

“Hisbah has banned any sort of prostitution, gambling, and it’s kind across the state.

“Hisbah is watching any person with funny hair-style and taking necessary actions against them in the state,” the statement noted further.

Arewa PUNCH similarly learnt that the board has further issued new rules for tricycle riders, also known as Keke Napep riders in the state to, among other things, restrain them from wearing knickers while riding.

It also reads, “Hisbah has banned the use of curtains on KEKE NAPEP, taking women alongside NAPEP driver, mixing men and women in one NAPEP, use of musical devices on any NAPEP, wearing three-quarter trousers by NAPEP riders while on duty, reckless driving is prohibited by law.”

Others are, “tinted glasses on NAPEP light is prohibited by law, only the driver is allowed to sit in front of the NAPEP, no passenger is allowed.”

The law also involved the okada riders across the state who have been prohibited from carrying more than one woman on any okada. It equally noted that carrying different genders (male and female) on one motorbike by okada riders is no longer acceptable, and the practice is banned in the state.

The head of the board, Sheikh Aminu Usman, again added that Hisbah has banned the use of vulgar language while selling herbals in any town or markets across Katsina State.

“Hisbah has banned herbalists from using loud speakers to advertise the products during prayer times across Katsina State.”

Therefore, he warned the public against violating any of the rules, which he said would attract stiff penalties for violators.

He said, “Anyone who flauts any of these rules will face the full wrath of the law.”

Usman called on parents to be vigilant on their children, especially the females, and stop them from any misconduct capable of breaking any of the rules as stipulated across the state.

Calm down!! It's not responsibility of Hisbah to stop bandits and terrorists, but to stop immoral activities life gambling and prostitution which I'm sure no decent person would like his daughter or sister to get involved

On a serious note gamblers will travel to Abuja to get their fix. There's plenty of places to go waste your money nigeria. The prostitutes will just get smarter. Instead of walking the streets they will arrange meet up online. Hisbah won't be online look shutting down every listing website or searching every motel or home.
