In South Africa, at different stages of ur building you wait for the authority to come and inspect.

I live in uk. It really takes time to complete a building.
I witnessed the building authority electing a mini estate close to my house. This took more than 2 yrs. At a point I asked what is delaying the.. I also noticed the foundation stage takes so much time.
At every time, inspectors are on ground.
Those bricklayers etc actually have certificates. The plumbers, name them, all has one certificate or the other. To become a qualified bricklayer takes like 2 to 3 yrs. Some engineers will add experience and exposure join. You must get your maths and English waec or gce level.

But in naija, anything goes.
I went to work in one hospital over here and decided to check them out. It was established 1897. That's a mark of good structure and maintenance.
You see naija, I have given up. It's rotten from head to the toe.

While we were morning, the death of innocent souls, by this unfortunate incident. A political bastard, by name onanuga bayo, felt it convenient to call out P.O, on the x app, over the court judgement on the local government autonomy. This tinubu government is really a joke, on democracy. This is what tribal bigotry causes, we all would suffer for it. Illiteracy is truely an infectious disease.

Sosoliso airline that only 2 people survived (ie Late Pastor Bimbo Odukoya's Personal Assistant and a student then Kelechi or so now in the US), now there was a woman who lost all her 3 children on that plane crash. Is now I know that that woman needs to be given a trophy. How in the world could she and her husband survive that trauma and went on the following year 2006 to give birth. Can't forget because newspaper carried the news that she has given birth and that child should be 18yrs now. Indeed this life is a mystery

I know that case very well. Shell directors lost their kids there. Actually, Shell md was in our house when it happened and his son was among. I know 5 kids there by association. It was like a black Friday for us that day.
My big bros colleague and friend lost his only son, Shell md lost his. Another family friend lost 2 kids and I have forgotten how I know the other kid. The family that lost 2, I think the wife died later. One managed to get 1 after ivf in Holland then and lost the boy.

After that incident, parents narrowed down the choices they made concerning their kids education and herd mentality.

It's not everybody that has the mental capacity to endure great loss.
One of my aunt lost her 2 kids and lost it mentally even though she had other kids later.

Buried her on the 3rd day and trado continued.
Reason why I never celebrate my marriage anniversary. Don't even like to see the pictures nor the video cos they trigger some emotions. Burned everything after giving birth. Well,hubby hid some.

Move on with the good memory you had of her and make her proud of you.
Also, you can always go to her tomb and speak to her. Yes, it's healing. Tell her your fear, worries, achievements etc. It's normal in many culture

I am about to fulfill one of what she said I should do before she died.

I learnt the building was a bungalow before it's comverted to a 2 storey building

Wow. I can imagine how devastating it was and has been for these families even after almost 19 yrs later. Life can never be the same for anyone after the loss of a dear one but just know that you're a strong woman and our latter days in life will be greater than the beginning.

As if the Nigerian situation is not hard enough, we are still experiencing tragedies on top! May God help us!!

This is a tragedy. It is so painful that no true mother can bear it. May their gentle souls rest in perfect peace.

Just looking at the first picture will tell you all you need to know. Nigeria always like cutting corners. This is the result.
The builder, school management, the government agency that has oversight for buildings are all culpable.

RIP to everyone who lost their lives.

Very very sad we find ourselves in this ugly situation where everything especially the things that will put human lives in jeopardy if not properly taken care of, are treated with little or no care.

Is that to say that the building in all these years have been a threat to the life of the pupils and teachers in it without the government knowing about it.

This loss of one child is hard to handle, the loss of 4 children is literally the end of the world for any parent who has spent everyday of their lives loving and caring for those kids.

How will one live after coming home to meet a very quiet home, their clothes, playthings, unfinished home work, uniforms already washed, empty bed and their food plates.
