The APCs control of the centre and all the mechanisms for rigging elections was what helped Umahi (a character enslaved by his own lust for power and who i’ve grown to dislike in recent times) foist a dull and visionless character on Ebonyians as governor even when there were better options! And this same rigging also helped Uzodinma steal a second term!

The APC designs on the south-east mirrors the wider designs the hegemonic Nigerian state has had on the region, from the late 60s to date, owing to the high incidence of oil and gas deposits in Alaigbo (note i said Alaigbo and not south-east), and this is why they ensured they facilitated the judicial abracadabra and hocus-pocus that saw the supreme court governor being rigged in as governor in Imo state!

South East traditionally like to play politics that isolate it from the centre. If that’s the politics it embraces, then complaining about marginalisation is self-inflicted.

Participating in the major political parties is the best way to show electorates from other regions you can be trusted; so when it’s time for presidential election, you won’t just emerge from no where last minutes, and be asking for votes. You then complain of rigging if not elected.

I have nothing against Peter Obi but I won’t vote for him because he is unknown to me. Late Dora Akunyili also from Anambra like him would need no campaign before I identify with her. She was head of Nafdac and her tenure was one of best things that happened to Nigeria.

I would have voted for her over Tinubu easily; I’m not from her region. May her soul continue to rest in eternal glory.

Moral of the story, participate in APC/PDP/ everywhere, so when chosen as minister, you build your profile nationally with good works, and campaigning for presidency would be an achievable objective.
