At least the SS knew better not to have a secondary shooter like that in JFK's case. They relied heavily in the shooter able to make the shot and that's because the shooter was placed in such a very strategic position to have a successful shot on Trump.

Although one might be tempted to applaud them for immediately being able to gun down the assassin, it could as well have been that they killed him to silence him from revealing those truly behind the attempted assassination.
