My favorite city and city where I have most of my relatives, kinsmen and town's men. The update is frightening with looting and house burgling going on by the "akas". People's foods and other perishable items puts in the fridge have all spoilt. The hospitals are the worst hit and places, where preservation of things using electricity are used. Shopping malls have disposed of all their refrigerated items as all have gone sour and bad. Electricity is something that is taken for granted overseas and they hardly prepare for this kind of situation.

Either Whoever you’re getting your information from is lying to you or you’re making up the lies yourself. The hospitals here have generators worth hundreds of thousands of dollars that snap on the minute the power fails. Shopping malls here generally don’t have grocery stores so the part about them disposing of spoiled goods is another lie, just like the looting and burgling. Texas is the home of people who have as many guns as they have televisions, the chaos you’re describing sounds silly to anyone who knows how things are run. Who is breaking in and burglarizing homes and businesses that are owned by people who proudly own guns? Texans know the situation with the power grid and expected this as Hurricane Season began on June 1st. Many were already prepared for it.

In Nigeria there are many local government without light for years and the citizens of those places would still be the ones to roll out drums for their oppressors. Just 4 days and it has become a crisis. What should will call a place with no light for 10 or 15 years?

It doesn’t and it can’t. The amount of money that Texans receive in social security and other government benefits cannot be paid out by the state. The state itself cannot run without any federal funds. Seceding is a pipe dream that some people talk about because they don’t know any better.

What is their backup and disaster recovery plan?

I was so surprised that a town like Igboho doesn't have light until I got there three days ago and I was told no light for over a year now in the town. Many places along that axis have no light for years, especially Baruten local government.

Crisis for not having power in 4 days, In my country it's a norm, we are used to not having power supply for days, weeks and months. It's a crisis if we have 24 hrs uninterrupted power supply, that's when we will be asking what's wrong with the power company

they are not used to power cuts unlike we here. So most home rarely uses generator except those big chip companies or the rich who can afford it as a standby
