"Saner clime"
Isn't it insane to live and act like everything is normal without electricity for 4 yearshuh I know what you did there by subbing the saner climes but losing light for 4 days is so insane it had to make news headlines. Some people are so comfortable with the insanity that they bully the Americans with suffering sad They don't have light for 4 years and it's not even newsworthy sad

From the comments here, it is obvious a lot of Nigerians have become comfortable with madness. Few are roaming, many are mad shocked

Crisis for not having power in 4 days, In my country it's a norm, we are used to not having power supply for days, weeks and months. It's a crisis if we have 24 hrs uninterrupted power supply, that's when we will be asking what's wrong with the power company
🤣🤣🤣

Either Whoever you’re getting your information from is lying to you or you’re making up the lies yourself. The hospitals here have generators worth hundreds of thousands of dollars that snap on the minute the power fails. Shopping malls here generally don’t have grocery stores so the part about them disposing of spoiled goods is another lie, just like the looting and burgling. Texas is the home of people who have as many guns as they have televisions, the chaos you’re describing sounds silly to anyone who knows how things are run. Who is breaking in and burglarizing homes and businesses that are owned by people who proudly own guns? it.
The gun aspect is where I knew he lied because Texans are ready to shoot any moving object who tries to steal from them. I was wondering how theft will run rampant in a place where almost everyone proudly owns a gun.

Wrong. This has nothing to do with Biden and this problem is not prevalent in the rest of America. Texas’ power grid is a result of its Republican governor’s having misplaced priorities.
But electricity is very cheap in Texas. Imagine having 2 split unit of 10000but each and run them 24/7 with just $300 monthly bill

80% of Nigerians have been in crisis for many decades.
But do they know it?

U know most are slaves without knowing they are. Thats why d country is beyond redemption because their mentality is completely damaged.

As we are talking, they are in mosque and church dancing and singing “come and see o, come and see, come and see what the lord has done, it is marvellous in our sight”.

Is it those kind of dumbos u expect to realise that they are in crisis? When u add the bad roads, the nonexistent healthcare, the irregular salary payment, low wages, uncontrolled inflation, coupled with kidnappings, fulani terrorism, gmo etc. Are they not under ultra-ultra-crisis mode?

Do I say anything out of context?,I know the likes of you will quickly jump in and start defending your mental slave masters.
I put saner clime in between two inverted commas, you don't even know what I mean by that.
You should just go and join your masters on their "saner clime",if you are such an enthusiast in defending them,I don't give a damn about them or any other countries for that matter.
Good morning.

Meanwhile, I once lived in my present address at Iyana Church for 5 months straight without NEPA light for a single minute -- and that's "normal". I have some light from solar; all the other neighbours don't.

What a joke

Good morning.
So MANY assumptions in inverted commas. Where have I indicated a desire to be an enthusiasthuh What did you mean by your commenthuh Try and make it make sense. Do not deviate from the innuendo. I repeat, is it saner to not have light for 4 days in Nigeriahuh This has nothing to do with whether it's USA, Nigeria or Turkey. Electricity around the world is a human right given to the citizens by government. It is taken for granted that they don't even think about it as a privilege. It is considered basic infrastructure.

Maybe you don't understand the English.

Question 1
In a 365 day year, Country A has light for 350 days in a year with intermittent disruptions and Country B has a total of 120 days in a year with frequent interruption. Which country is a saner climehuh

Option A: Country A
Option B: Country B

Question 2
In country A above, the intermittent disruptions are caused by natural disasters and occasionally accidents. Last year, the Tornado caused an interruption for 5 days. Later in the year, a squirrel cut the cables. In country B, frequent power cuts are a norm and the authorities are slow in reparing damaged electrical cables. This affects prodcution and productivity. Which country is a saner climehuh

Question 3
In both countries, budgets are approved for electricity. One country gets constant electricity and the other does not. Both countries have governments and regulatory authorities. When lights are out beyond the normal, authorities in Country A work to get it fixed immediately. In country B, authorities are not bothered by lights out for days.
Which country is a saner climehuh

Just respond with A or B. No need for stories.

Good morning

I'm just laughing and shaking my head at the way most of the people commenting here are making a mockery of the situation and also comparing Texas to Nigeria. smiley cheesy grin
First, imagine a world where almost everything you do is powered by electricity, regarded as a basic infrastructure. I'm asking this because I live in Houston; I know how I felt when I couldn't cook (because most houses use electric cookers), watch the TV, charge my phones, or talk about working on the PC (to mention a few of the things that revolve around electricity usage).
The most extended power outage I've experienced before Hurricane Beryl lasted 3 hours. Still, after the recent storm, the power outage in my area lasted for two days before it was restored. I knew how horrible I felt for those two days, but thanks to the 'Nigerian shock absorber' in me. Most places have already had their power restored, but some areas are still without power, making it a week-plus.
So you wouldn't blame the government or other people who might have declared it a crisis. Even those who have the most expensive solar panels were affected one way or the other. Power generator sales have been on the increase since the occurrence of the storm. Still, I love how the government kept sending emergency alerts, warning people about the dangers of maintaining generators inside their houses because of the harmful carbon monoxide they emit.

Houston has over 2 million people, power has already been restored to all but an estimated 50,000. For those still without power, there are air conditioned buildings, known as cooling stations, that are open for their convenience. These cooling stations generally remain open during the Summer months so that no one suffer heat exhaustion. There are also a number of locations serving hot meals and cold beverages until power is fully restored.
You have no right to be talking like a parrot here. I decide who write and comment here. I own this platform. Your life is empty. I wanted to pity you and give you to my civil engineer dude earning millions monthly, he handles all my buildings in Lagos but you don't respect me. You must respect me. I have husband everywhere in the world. I have husband in America, I have husband who are MTN and Glo engineers, I have businessmen husband who owns factories, name it i have them all. I have given many women husband who went on to live happily ever after. They call me everyday and thank me. Your problem is husband. That's why u talk rubbish and have been stagnant in life, commenting on nairaland for 10 years. You have to respect me if you want to see happiness in this life or else you will suffer more. I am the giver of joy, that's what my marxist identity brings out in me. You must respect me to be prosperous in life. Without me everybody ends up a failure. Like I warned in my last post, you must delete that your China Post before I can look into your matter. That's the first respect you must give me.

Wrong. Even small children know that Santa Ana sold Texas and other territories to the United States as part of a large transaction for $10 million in 1848. Please open a history book.
@1stGenAmerican,

True that.

The same can also be said of the former French territories stretching from Louisiana in the Southern United States right up to parts of Northern United States. The French had to sell those territories to the United States as a result of the war debts France had incured during the Napoleonic Wars and the Haitian revolution. Alaska too was sold to the U.S. by Russia. Most people are not well grounded in world history. They just rehash urban legends whenever it suits them.

On the other hand, congratulations on Kamala Devi Harris' endorsement by Joe Biden for the position of a U.S. Presidential candidate. It's not fully confirmed yet until the Dems meet in Chicago tho.

Enjoy the rest of your day. wink

Ciao.

Indeed... These are momentous times in living memory. That "Harris-Walz" effect already kicked in like dopamine. wink

On the other hand, 1stGenAmerican, as an EV owner yourself, I thought to share my already bookmarked vids with a you a few months back (in case you haven't seen them) to gain some quick insights. Make sure to watch them in full. For me, I'm still a lover of traditional hybrid vehicles. Enjoy. x
