ExudeLoveToAll:
There was a coup on the 29th of July 1975(Muritala as head of state and another on the 13th of February 1976 (OBJ as head of state)

Check your facts correctly, you are wrong for saying there wasn't a coup in 1976. Apparently the movie may have described the 1976 coup which brought OBJ to power.
Bro 1975 Coup was during Gowon as president, it was led by Multala. While that of 1976 was during Multala as president, led by Dimka.

This fellow reminds me of those people who you will ask directions and they will confidently point you in the wrong direction.

Even if you are indomie generation how can you not know that there was a failed coup in 1976? Something that ended the life of the evil Muritala Mohammed

Doesn't Google Search work on your phone?

RenaissanceGuy:
The coup actually took place in 1975, not 1976. They only used "76" as the title so as to be on a safe side that the movie is just a figment of human creation and not a real reflection of what took place in the 1975 coup.

I’ve watched the movie. It was fantastic.

I think it’s been around for years tho. Watched it last year or last 2 years. Can’t remember.
It's been out that long and no one is/was talking about it? Anyway, I'll watch for myself and See how it is.

I hope the movie captured the rat poison taker and the weak tribe
Chief Awolowo died a noble death. In Yorùbáland, true Kings and Nobles choose how they will die and when.
Obafemi Awolowo made known in parables that his time was up, and his inner circle ( Omoleye & Adéwálé: you need to dig further to know who these are) knew.

I pray you and I also transition safely to the other world, when it's time, Amin.

It should! The tribe that couldn't develop to a mere village during pre colonial days while others had empires. Where weak men clad themselves in wrappers like their hero that Ben Johnson to Ivory Coast after causing the suyanisation of over 3m don dees. The tribe that always confuse arrogance with bravery. It also captured the rat poison story about one of their sons who couldn't win the laurel for his profession and later became frustrated.

I want time to go back to the 1990s .... When life was good.
LIFE was good in the 90s, you say? Two things are involved to warrant your assertion. it's either you didn't truly see the 90s or you were too little to know better.

I must say the main characters in this epic seat-on-edge film were really impressive especially Ramsey Noah and Chidi Mokem given that they have no military drill background except the ones acquired in the course of producing this movie.

Shot mainly @ Letmauk Barracks, Mokola-Ibadan, Oyo State; the cars, custume, social life and environment setting were just the ideal type given that it was the former 4th Battalion Barracks in the 1960-1970s Nigeria.

All the areas used for the movie were well familiar turfs especially the parade ground that is often used for the WASA ceremonies( I will do a thread on that one day) while my pop served with the army. Shout out to fellow barrack boys and girls folks all over. We rock!

Guy read before arguing, did I tell you who lead the coup? I said those who led the government and I specifically mentioned head of State. I was trying to educate someone that I responded to who said there was no coup in 1976 which led to OBJ government, I didn't say obj led the coup.
