The Labour Party (LP) on Wednesday said it won't join issues with Joe Igbokwe, a chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State.

Igbokwe, who described himself as the leader of Ndigbo in Lagos APC had issued a statement where he claimed the planned nationwide protest was being sponsored by the LP.

Acccording to him "The Endsars bandits are gathering again, and this time, we see hands of Labour Party followers everywhere. They are yet to come to terms with the colossal loss of 2023 Presidential Elections . They are still bitter to the marrows. They are not done yet. They are gathering again. They are networking again. They are spitting fire and brimstone once again. But dynamics have changed. It is not business as usual. But please know this and have inner peace: 2020 is not 2024. I will not speak further. Read my lips".

However speaking in a chat with TheScrutinyNG, Obiora Ifoh, the National Publicity Secretary of the LP said the party won't respond to Igbokwe's allegations as he is a nonentity who is not recognised in Igboland.

"I don't want to talk about Joe Igbokwe because the man is a nonentity. He is not a recognised leader in Igboland so we can't be giving him attention that he doesn't deserve. He can't use Labour Party to gain cheap publicity".

Guy, rest! Igbos have no enemies; you people should stop promoting this silly narrative. Nigeria is a country that has no regards for fairness, equity and justice. People build bridges to grab the largesse of the state and enjoy it.

If you want to keep attacking every tribe that doesn't share your political ideals, you will be in the opposition for a long time. While you will be quick to say it's totally fine to remain in the opposition, don't call your self-imposed decision hate because it's not.
