When I was in Port Harcourt that year, there was a company a company called MICHELIN.

Again, and again when I'm passing in the morning, I would see these lazy people block Michelin's gates, demanding to be paid for doing nothing just because the company was located in that community.

Maybe they thought Michelin would never leave. But one day the company decided they had had enough. They fired everyone, shut down the place and left.

Lo and behold, the community boys have not yet eaten the empty land.

They have not refined a drop of oil in the past 3 decades, but they have been hiring & retiring till date. If others can spend a whole career answering, oil company workers without seeing oil, why can’t the youth also answer oil company workers without an engineering degree!. There are not many international oil firms onshore for them to do this to anymore because this entitlement complex has driven them offshore beyond community boundaries. When the head is sick, the body cannot help but display the symptoms. The treatment they’ll receive will definitely be different from the one they used to receive from foreign oil companies, of that I’m sure!
