Death seems to follow Trump.

Two heart attack victims and 5 more at the Capitol Hill invasion. Now we have two more: the death of the fireman plus the assassin.

There have been other deaths too, at some of his other rallies or in connection with his political antics but not sure, will look into it....

A quick ChatGpt query revealed that in addition to the 5 Capitol Hill deaths, the following deaths occured:

ChatGpt: In the aftermath of the riot, there were additional suicides among law enforcement officers who responded to the event, though these deaths are not counted among the direct casualties of the riot itself:

Howard Liebengood: A Capitol Police officer who died by suicide on January 9, 2021.

Jeffrey Smith: A Metropolitan Police Department officer who died by suicide on January 15, 2021.

Kyle DeFreytag: Another Metropolitan Police Department officer, who died by suicide in July 2021.

Gunther Hashida: A Metropolitan Police Department officer, who died by suicide in July 2021.

undecided. Fucking thing reads like a script from the Omen movie.

.....seems a couple of old people also died at his 2021 rally meetings, attributed to COVID.

Here we go again. OK people are achieving success in Nigeria, but how many? What percentage?
They never get to answer this question. As it is, black people generally hate numbers and fact-based debates. It is partly why we don't perform well in quantitative tests worldwide or even show up during competitions such as the Olympiad.

Nigeria is a hopeless case. Because Black Africans tend to be SOCIALIST, they don't believe in MERIT or equal opportunity. We tend to be more emotional than logical.

You might feel different but the facts are what they are, sorry.
That is emphatically true. Blacks have this penchant for feeding bottle mentality. Always government support with other people's money o. Never theirs, but as Margaret Thatcher stated..."The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money".

LOL, you're not referring to past events with any accuracy. Based on my experiences, I know you're likely a Black woman in a family earning in the 85 to 90 percentile.

(1) Racism - I'm very sure you're an Igbo woman. My main question to you is, do you support Federal Character policies in Nigeria?. I would really like to get an answer to that.
I am amused when I see Igbos, regardless of location, complain of racism. It makes me chuckle.

I generally find people in your bracket support DEI and Affirmative Action because those policies favor RICH Black people while suppressing Asian competitors. Poor Blacks don't benefit from it. When say 10% of positions are reserved for Blacks, it's the RICH or upper middle-class Blacks that benefit because they don't have to compete. I've already told the story of a friend of mine that earns $1 million per year.
There are facts to support it. 1) The greatest beneficiaries of AA are upper middle class blacks, not the downtrodden. 2) In fact, black Africans benefit proportionally more than native African Americans on a per capita basis. I am surprised that this statistic isn't widely popular so that native African Americans get to know the biggest benefactors of affirmative action. It is why on Twitter, upper middle-class black Africans "support" the continuous use of affirmative action. I have even advised another Nairalander who resides in Spain to ensure his children select "Black/African American" during admission. I will do the same, but the truth has to be told.

These articles chronicle the various studies and statements by native African Americans about who actually benefits from affirmative action: https://www.aei.org/op-eds/affirmative-action-helps-black-immigrants-but-not-black-americans/

The people in that category campaigned and voted for Buhari in 2015. Today, some relocated. Others fled their jobs and sought foreign citizenship.

How can an intelligent person vote for Buhari? You people misuse that term.

You mean to say black people not blacks. Yes I support social programs that help people who are down on their luck, provide affordable healthcare and housing, affordable widespread public transportation, paid maternity and paternity leave. You know, all the things that truly make a 1st world country. Things that some other 1st world countries have managed to implement without falling into communism. Yet America is still beating about the bush on these issues while brainwashing anyone who cares to listen that it’s impossible to achieve.

I pay my taxes in the thousands and I’d love to see the money go to those who actually need it versus padding the pockets of military contractors who go around the world stoking wars and strife so they can sell more weapons. It’s not other people’s money. It our collective money that’s meant to benefit the collective public rather than a select few corrupt business men.

I am amused when I see Igbos, regardless of location, complain of racism. It makes me chuckle.
I don’t even know what this is supposed to mean. Because I’m Igbo, am I supposed to overlook the fact that certain people truly want me to perish for my skin color? And they mostly occupy the Republican Party?
Or should it just be another day because “by the way it’s worse in Nigeria”? You have truly made no meaningful point with this comment here.

This is actually false. Just because you said something on NL and call it facts doesn’t make it so.

White women benefit most from affirmative action — and are among its fiercest opponents.

Expectedly, you could not refute my claims with superior evidence. Very typical of the lovey-dovey folks in the Democratic Party. Nothing surprising. Additionally, a Nigerian has no right to accuse others of racism. Lastly, how is it racist, as a black African, to question policies which benefit black Africans more than native African Americans which they were intended for?

You mean to say black people not blacks.
Blacks, Black people, males, females, men, women etc. Mere semantics. What is the difference between six and half a dozen?

Yes I support social programs that help people who are down on their luck, provide affordable healthcare and housing, affordable widespread public transportation, paid maternity and paternity leave. You know, all the things that truly make a 1st world country. Things that some other 1st world countries have managed to implement without falling into communism. Yet America is still beating about the bush on these issues while brainwashing anyone who cares to listen that it’s impossible to achieve.
The US is too diversified to institute certain policies nationwide. I am all for paid maternity leave provided each state has its jurisdiction on the topic. Widespread public transportation has to do with the car lobby and the breadth of the country. The thing with certain public benefits is that the US, as I stated, is too populated and DIVERSIFIED across racial and ethnic groups. Mr IbeOkehie has explained why some countries can afford (not just monetarily, but socially in the long-term) socialist policies. So comparing the US to say Norway or Denmark is very misplaced. Saudi Arabia can enact social policies, ditto Ghana or Namibia, but Nigeria should not do the same.

Well, Biden has engaged in more wars than Trump. By now, everyone should have admitted that the world was safer when Trump was president. It is Trump not Biden who seeks to stop funding Ukraine.

I don’t even know what this is supposed to mean. Because I’m Igbo, am I supposed to overlook the fact that certain people truly want me to perish for my skin color? And they mostly occupy the Republican Party?Or should it just be another day because “by the way it’s worse in Nigeria”? You have truly made no meaningful point with this comment here.
While I do understand the GOP has refused to let go of its racist tendencies, I must state it: Igbos should be the last set of people to complain of racism especially as they are not the native blacks. It is not like modern-day Igbos were forced to move to the US. They went WILLINGLY.

This is actually false. Just because you said something on NL and call it facts doesn’t make it so.
I quoted two articles. One of which was a chronicle of research studies and the other an actual research paper.

Then this:

White women benefit most from affirmative action — and are among its fiercest opponents.

https://www.vox.com/2016/5/25/11682950/fisher-supreme-court-white-women-affirmative-action

https://eu.usatoday.com/story/money/2023/06/29/affirmative-action-who-benefits-white-women/70371219007/
The topic was not about white women, but black Africans who disproportionately benefit from affirmative action policies originally instituted to help native African Americans. This is an issue so-called ADOS are fighting against. And as the population of native African Americans gradually reduces, while that of black Africans gradually increases, we will see more of such in-fighting. So, your evidence does not refute mine. You just dodge it by bringing in white women when it was not about that group.

Where are those "it was staged crew" I guess this is part of the script too, they staged his death and instructed his wife not to pick President Biden's call.

I think she should have picked the call, albeit she already said she didn't blame him for her husband's death cos obviously he has nothing to do with it. She should pick the call and accept the Old man's condolences.

All of us go die one day!!!
Till then we move....
extending condolences has nothing to do with politics. She should have picked the call. Biden tried to have initiated that call.

Do you support Federal Character and Quota Systems in Nigeria?

You've mentioned this a few times. It seems you believe it and that's OK.

(1) I would ask you to look into actual policy and tell us which party has done the most harm to Black Americans over its history AND in contemporary times.

You noted the $1,000 free theft policy enacted by Cococandy's California among other permissive crime policies. I urge you to go look up what's happening in that State.

Madam Cococandy after reeling out her view of how drug laws target Blacks and spoil their records, completely ignored the facts I pointed out about the 1994 Crime Bill written by Joe Biden. She just read and moved on. When I point this out to Black Americans they're shocked.

(2) If you insist on ignoring evidence, here's some truth you can't get over....every human being is racist, or to put in more generally, every human being is discriminatory. And that means EVERYONE.

For the two people below...cool it down. It's tempting but please stop

Because they tend to make unguarded statements when it comes to racial issues, which we know is an emotional topic.

History shows it is the Democratic Party.

I was shocked by the policy, and more shocked seeing so-called liberals, especially blacks as the main perpetrators are black folks, supporting the leniency towards criminals. It is shocking to see seemingly educated people defend policies which condone criminality. It is one of the reasons I adore East Asian developed societies - criminality is not condoned.

Madam Cococandy after reeling out her view of how drug laws target Blacks and spoil their records, completely ignored the facts I pointed out about the 1994 Crime Bill written by Joe Biden. [/b] She just read and moved on. When I point this out to Black Americans they're shocked.
Isn't it surprising that the folks who proclaim "believe the science" find it hard to digest facts which refute their long-existing beliefs? These ae the same folks who accuse Trump's supporters of being unread, unlettered and illiterate.

(2) If you insist on ignoring evidence, here's some truth you can't get over....every human being is racist, or to put in more generally, every human being is discriminatory. And that means EVERYONE.
Before you became a Nairalander, I propagated that statement. So, I believe in it. Humans are tribal. It is human to discriminate.

Gerrard59:
Recently, three incidents which had black people as their victims have occurred in the US and the news with the aid of technology and social media h

Discrimination is a human nature and people do this daily knowingly or unknowingly and one thing which characterises these acts are because those discriminated are thought of people who offer less value (i.e. don’t contribute as others). This nature of racial discrimination did not start today but it can be challenged only if those discriminated offer more value (i.e. contribute more than others) to the society. Today, it is blacks who are being discriminated however; the Chinese, Japanese, Koreans, Malaysians, Indians etc. have been discriminated for many years. Those days, Europeans saw Japanese as yellow monkeys but today the EU was elated when she signed a trade agreement with Japan. Trade deals aren’t signed with poor people. Today, the EU – leaders, business community, residents etc. – can never utter s

Oh, did you expect me to have a discussion with you on whether "black people generally hate numbers and fact-based debates."?
Leaving out the fact that, ironically, your argument was not fact based, that post was drenching with coonery and inherent racism. Given that, you seem unexposed or psychologically damaged and so generally not worth my time. In this Trump era, where Racism seems to no longer be a taboo, I have less patience for it.

Surprisingly you are not alone. I've found that there are a lot of self hating black people on this forum. I'm not sure why. Generally, it's people who have never left Nigeria, who somehow believe their skin color isn't really black or they would be considered the exceptional black skinned person. I see it a lot more in the American Politics thread.

As usual, the classism. The belief that only those based outside Nigeria have "the range" to have a say on certain topics. The belief that even when someone is actually based outside Nigeria, they MUST have the same thought process because a set of people are the numero-uno. Not fact-based o, just vibes and anything Awon Liberals parrot. Mr IbeOkehie is based outside Nigeria and in the US like yourself.

Well, here is it: in today's Nigeria, anyone can leave the country. So, being abroad isn't something to boast about.

Is it classist to believe you can't understand racism fully if you've never been in environment where you aren't in the majority racially? Fortunately for a lot of those people in this thread, cheering racists and cooning away, they will never have to experience it.

You argue about fact based debates, and now argue that you can somehow have full knowledge of things without actually experiencing them. Does that sound rational to you? I am Nigerian and spend tons of time in Nigeria, but I even understand my limitations when discussing Nigeria. It's ok to understand your limitations. We will never know what we don't know.

There are tons of Black people doing amazing things in Math and Science. You should figure out why you think "black people" hate numbers and fact based debates. Maybe reflecting on it will illuminate your own biases, insecurities and deficiencies. Insecurities like figuring out why you thought I was boasting about being "abroad", because I said you can't understand racism without being in a place where you may experience it.
