Man Regains Freedom After 7 Years On Awaiting Trial

A forty year old man named Mr Uche Nnoli from Nteje in Oyi local government area of Anambra state regained his freedom after being on the waiting trial list for seven years.
Nnoli who was sent to the Onitsha Correction Center over trumped up charges while in detainton was transfered to Ogwashi Ukwu Correction Center in Delta state but was later returned to Onitsha Correction Center where he was later released.
His freedom was restored when the Anambra state chapter of Human Right Protection Service which has its headquarters in Naples the United States of America offered free legal aides to him.

From the police to the prison processing officers nothing

This lack of consequences is what's the issue with Nigeria and that's why they would keep acting the way they do

Everyone is at fault here. From the police who may have picked him up from the street over trumped up charges, to the judges and lawyers who didn't deem his case serious enough to prioritise, even up to his friends and family who didn't have the willpower to pursue the case and put enough pressure on the police and lawyers.
This kind of thing hardly ever happens to you if your family is rich.

You no know Nigeria be that If you know the number of persons in that awaiting list across the country,you go fear.. Is it that fg doesn’t know about it? Ofcourse they know ,but since the victim is not related to them,it’s never their business to do what’s right..

What are you saying? I'm not supporting or justifying the oppression of the man, I'm only educating the poster that the problem is not from Judiciary but a terrible justice system. That guy was never again taken to court by the prosecutors after he was reminded, in that case there is practically nothing the Judge (Judiciary) can do.
All the provisions in the Administration of Criminal Justice Act that were designed to address this sort of evil are not been implemented (justice system)

Judiciary is obviously for the highest bidder in this country.
