I recall that during our struggle for a fair minimum wage, the least amount mentioned was 150,000. Given this context, it is surprising to see jubilation over a 70,000 agreement. While any increase is a step forward, we must remember our original goal and continue pushing for a wage that truly reflects the cost of living and ensures a dignified standard of life for all workers. Moreover, the Federal Government's threat to hike the pump price of petrol should not have coerced us into accepting a lower wage. We must stand firm in our demands and not let external pressures force us into compromising on what is fair and just. Let’s not settle for less than what was initially deemed fair and necessary. |

NLC HAS FAILED NIGERIANS. $43 MINIMIUM WAGE HAS DROPPED TO 3O STH DOLLARS NOW IMAGINE "GIANT OF AFRICA" PAYING LESS THAN 40 DOLLARS AS MINIMIUM WAGE AND SOME BST WILL STILL COME TO SUPPORT THIS GOVT....HELINUES AND CO THERE WAS NO INCREASE IN MINIMUM WAGE. BUHARI GAVE US $43. TINUBU GAVE US SAME AMOUNT. UNFORTUNATELY, IT HAS DROPPED COS OF EXCHANGE RATE INCREASE. NO INCREASE AT ALL HAS BEEN IMPLEMENTED. IT WAS DECREASED INSTEAD. |

This is telling that FG can reduce fuel prices if they wish. But hell no they wouldn't. Imagine a president threatening the masses with more hardship as a tool for negotiation |

JAOS:Ajeros claims make no sense at all. He went into that meeting as a representative of members of the NLC, TUC, and other sister unions. Not as a representative of the Nigerian people. So, for him to tell his members that he accepted a ridiculous package out of concern for the Nigerian people is bullsheet. He was played for a fool by a tinubu is all that happened in that meeting. ![]() Tinubu, not Ajero, is the one elected by the people of Nigeria to concern himself with the plight of the people. Why didn't Tinubu consider the cost of fuel for the Nigerian people when he pulled the fuel subsidy in the first place? Why didn't Tinubu, the one elected to concern himself with the plight of the people consider the cost of fuel when he took out over 700 million dollars to purchase jets for himself and his buddy in office? Ajero just messed up a chance at a better life for the workers and if I were among his members, I would ask him to step down immediately. ![]() |

Teymanhenry:I disagree with this since all it reveals is that subsidy is still in place, only that for the government to go any lower, we may have to dig deep into possibly the foreign reserves at that point. ![]() |

Kobojunkie:u don't know anything sir. Ask your parents to tell u how his government was. Things cheap die. Them in obasanjo policy, minimum wage was measured against 130 liters of fuel.it was the measurements. Labour then said it shouldn't be less than 150 liters of fuel. |

InteliJ:Exactly! A month from now, the amount is probably going to be worth no more than $30. Ajero basically destroyed the chances of his people getting a better package during this negotiation by way of his hubris. ![]() |

kolafolabi:Threat ke! Wetin concerns NLC with the plight of the Nigerian people? Na the people dem dey fight for abi na only workers who make up only a portion of the Nigerian populace? The ones elected to concern themselves with the plight of the people are those in government. Agbero fancied himself a hero of the people of Nigeria but only proved himself a fool. ![]() |

Emilokan JAGABAN the god of Politics. You can't win him in this game. Right before negotiation started at all, he knows how much he is going to pay. He held his winning card to the end before displaying it, take 70K or I increase fuel price. This however doesn't mean that I support his blackmail-like winning card, it only means I salute his political sagacity |

It's just a mere propaganda from the NLC. They should have provided evidence to back their claim. FG is not interested in increasing the petrol price. They are only interested in the welfare of the masses |
