Not true that prices of goods and services will multiply everywhere. This not the first time minimum wage has been increased in Nigeria and each in the past,it was only marginal increase in some goods and services that resulted from it.

If you disagree with what I just explained then provided data from the past in support of your wild speculations about what you expect to happen.

Inflation is caused by a combination of factors, not minimum wage alone.

Increasing minimum wage to 70k does it help the matter?

My suggestion any Nigerian should find a means to earn in dollars or find a steady cash flow system that can generate income atleast 50k daily should go along way instead of depending on the so called minimum wage (70K)

Inflation is primarily caused by excess money in circulation leading to high level demand with low level of supply. country like Nigeria that relies on 90% imported goods is fighting against multiple types of inflation. The more we import the weaker the Naira gets and that leads to astronomical prices of goods and services.

Your statement above is wrong and the evidence is simple:

In 2011, minimum wage went from 5,500 to 18,000, cost of building supplies, petrol and other imported products rose between 20 to 40%. In 2019, minimum wage went from 18,000 to 30,0000 and we witnessed even worse inflation, from 50% to as much as 200%. I know this because I built my first house in 2017 costing less than 80 million Naira and in 2021 when I wanted to build my second house with the same style and materials, the total cost was over 150 million.

Now we want to go from 30,000 to 70,000 and we expect just a marginal increase in goods and services.....NO BE JUJU BE THAT?

NYSC pays allowance not salary. Also, it's a short term commitment (1 year) so I doubt if it's covered in the agreement so it's up to the government to decide on that separately.

Someone like me that earns 2,500 daily(not consistent) before i finish work i don eat food of 1,500 I'll use 300 transport ho house.. will be left with 700 and that can't even buy a proper meal for dinner

When some labour people are shouting minimum wage as 500k per month I keep laughing because to us everything is politics and not reality even the 70k they claim it's not enough

The basis of minimum wage is you dare not pay below that, knowing fully well that you can't pay cleaners 70k and you expect your graduate core staff 80k you will be paying them minimum of 150k

The NYSC pay is an allowance not a wage, hence I don't think the minimum wage will have any effect on this. My opinion though.

If private schools must increase their salaries, they will have to do that by increasing school fees of students and thereby still dragging the small 70k from parents under minimum wage😂
U see say Tinubu na big failure.
Bring food items down, reduce price of PMS.
Subsidies many basic things and see Nigeria change.

I remember when my 19800 was enough to ferry me to Jos from Enugu and back, I still had change to flex small, 70k can't do that now... Increasing the money no be the issue, make the money get value

Allowance is not salary/wage. NYSC is not a job, it is a program for a specific period.
