If true, then that's good. The streets are public property. When you inconvenience other road users, then be ready to pay some money for alternate roads to be built.

If the church doesn't want to pay tax, then they can construct a big car park for their worshipers and members.
Why Church only.

How about Mosques on Fridays. Are they exempted?
Re: LASG To Start Charging Cars Parked Outside Church Premises Per Hour by stagger: 8:22am On Jul 21, 2024
I do not know the motive behind this policy, but the fact is that an organization cannot have visitors or congregants taking over public roads and inhibiting free flow of traffic.

I wonder who will implement this policy on the various expressways in Abuja and its environs where we are subjected to gridlocks every Friday during Juma'at prayers.

Extremely long overdue.
They should even bill them 1 Billion Naira for 7 Years in reviews.

Applicable to all similar places, mosques, clubs, buildings without carpark etc.

Testing the waters. One step closer towards taxation of religious organisations.

A discouragement for people who wants to buy cars. Policy not bad but not appropriate as there could be car breakdown or some emergency could lead to roadside parking of cars. Even the islamic world don't have this level of strict policy on vehicles. But I want to believe that there's a reason why this is coming now. But there should be exceptions to cars in some situations otherwise taskforce personel would take advantage of the situation negatively.

Secondly, it will be a bad move if targeted against churches only simply because rich pastors Lagos don't pay tax and it's annoying the government. A battle against God whether Jew, Islam, Christian or traditional gods always have spiritual repercussions, one has to be very careful dealing with worshippers of unseen (spirit) beings.
Before you buy car buy carpark.

Why the discriminatory policy.

How about Mosques that cause nuisance on Fridays with indiscriminately parkings on Streets and Highways?

Lagos state government should not be biased with his policies. It should be all embracing. Not segregation.

The policy is good. But should not be discriminatory.

When people have committed a misdeed in their past lives, God reincarnates them and sends them to Lagos as poor or middle class Nigerians.

The kind of hellish nightmare people experience in that gutterified city is something else.

Imposing first world taxation regime on a fourth class infrastructural hell-hole

Not my cup of tea, but every aboki with his buta

Lagos is a karmic cycle, argue with Rhamnous

If it doesn’t include mosque, then the law should be challenged in court as discriminatory, it will be thrown out. You can’t make a law against a certain group of people while the other group doing the same thing are let off

Mosques not included. And would not be included for obvious reasons.

Muslims will revolt. But christians won't revolt because of their humble and Christ immuned nature.

Not in South west they don't! Especially in Lagos no group of people could try it.
That only happens in some parts of North especially in some towns in Naija State like Bida.
