We Won’t Be Part Of Protest Against Tinubu’s Govt — Gospel Ministers. by Moderator101(op): 9:34am On Jul 21, 2024
National President, Congress of Nigerian Gospel Ministers Incorporated, His Eminence, Most Rev Prof. Philip Okpanwa Akam, has stated that his members across the 36 states in Nigeria will not be joining the planned nationwide protest against hunger and economic hardship, set to commence August 2024.

Prof Akam described members of his Congress as genuine Ministers of God who are peaceful and law-abiding citizens, asserting that they have no adequate reasons to participate in the organized protest against the government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Akam who is also the Primate, Christ The Light Gospel Mission Incorporated made the position of the Congress known to Journalists shortly after meeting with the Anambra State Chapter of the Congress in Amawbia-Awka, on Friday July 19th, 2024.

According to him, whatever, the protest, be it peaceful or non-peaceful, we are not going to be part of it. Nobody who is a member of this Congress would participate. Members of our Churches should not participate and we should go back to our various congregations and tell them that we are not part of this type of protest that is upcoming, that we have a better option, and the option is to meet with the President and have a talk with him about his leadership style, where we think he has done it right and where we think he has not done it right, then we advised him on how best he can handle to address the challenges, because our members are also suffering from the hunger and hardship Nigerians are currently going through.

The Primate, however, expressed dissatisfaction over the way and manner the Nigerian Government is looking down on some genuine Church organisations like the Congress of Nigerian Gospel Ministers, established and Commission since 26th, March 1993 under the Military administration of General Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida.

The government is not carrying the Churches along and which is why things are not going normal the way they should be, in a country like Nigeria blessed with all natural resources anybody can think of.

“A Church is a divine institution charged with the mandate of ensuring the peace and spiritual well-being of the society. So, our meeting with the President, I strongly believe that it will curb the challenges.”

The National President, charged the leadership of the Congress in the State not to relent in praying for peace and unity of Anambra, South East region, and the country at large.

By the way, When some states in the SW, like Oyo and Ogun protested last year in their own region, some people stayed back and told their kinsmen to watch from afar.

Now they wanna protest,it's nobody's business, as far as they'd do that in the North and wherever

Who are these clowns?

Who registered this association?

Aren't these the fake bishops Tinubu hired to campaign for him?

What will it take Tinubu to provide good governance ? Or is he just as clueless and senile as people say?

Will people protest if governance is beneficial?

Okay,

they have no adequate reasons to participate in the organized protest against the government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Wait, what? you just admitted your members are suffering from hunger and hardship, yet you feel they have no adequate reasons to protest huh

So what do you really plan to discuss with the president when you meet with him?

The Primate, however, expressed dissatisfaction over the way and manner the Nigerian Government is looking down on some genuine Church organisations like the Congress of Nigerian Gospel Ministers,... The government is not carrying the Churches along

But in 2012, the likes of Pastor Adeboye, Pastor Osibanjo etc protested against fuel subsidy removal.

Fuel was to be increased to N146 par litre, yet these men of God protested with their members.

They've suddenly gone mute when the dolar is N1550 and fuel is N850 per litre.

In 2012 the dolar was N216, but today N1550 yet they don't want to protest?

Hypocrisy!!!!

It's wrong for Christians to protest against the authorities for any reason whatsoever {Romans 13:1-4} but the religious groups claiming Christians today have taught their followers to always protest against their rulers so it's not easy to tell their members what is contrary! undecided

He won't be part of the protest but he will ask his gullible followers to support him with money gotten from their blood and sweat. Listen, it is likely your pastor has been bribed by politicians to say these things to you. If you have any brain cells still active, what that means is that the gods worshipped by your gods of men are money and greed. undecided

Some people will be saddened by this news.
All they want is to wish chaos upon chaos on the country because of their hatred for the current administration.
I won't be surprised if they accuse the gospel ministers of taking bribe from Tinubu.

Stupid Christians. We will go to Church and be praying that God should repair Nigeria as per say God knows get better things to do abi.

When the Christians , when the honest people, when people with integrity, when good people keep shying away from politics, the wicked ones will keep dominating politics and do us any how na.
The Bible is not against becoming a leader or going into politics. Christians need to wake up.
Pray from now till tomorrow nothing will change , Infact the more we pray the more terrible Nigeria is becoming.
The Bible already said it, when the wicked rule, the people groan but when the righteous rule, there is peace.
As long as good people keep running away from politics, it can never be well with Nigeria. keep praying in vain ok.
