Just like you I have read the statement of the US President Biden but I keep wondering would we really know the extent of Biden conditions if not for that live Presidential debate? ... Absolutely not Let's take it back home.. Can Tinubu our president conduct a 20 mins live interview? Can he do a debate for 45 mins? This is a reason why debate must be made compulsory in the Nigerian election... Tinubu has stretched Nigerians beyond their limit. This is now a battle for survival. The usual divide and conquer tricks of ethnic bigotry or religious brainwashing won’t work on the hungry and angry masses. I don’t know how he’s going to do it, but if food prices can crash ahead of the protest, it would go a long way in alleviating the current tension. Mr President, now is not the time to panic. The silver bullet is in crashing food prices drastically, and watch the people change their tune eventually. Bribing the media or religious figures will not work. Ethnic baiting will not work. Intimidation through the armed forces will not work. Hunger is the real trigger here. Bring down food prices and watch the tension die a natural death. If there’s money to procure a $150m presidential jet, then surely there’s enough money to sustain importation of commodities to crash down food prices in the short term to buy your self time! |
