Eric Amadi Na one drunken professor who loves early morning whiskey 😁 😁 😁
confusedlady:
Did you read the original post at all?
Professor Eric Amadi wrote it in quite simple English that anyone without a hidden agenda should be able to comprehend.
He stated that the Ibo used their numerical superiority and the fact that they controlled the Old Eastern region to dominate and eradicate Ikwerre language and culture. They forced the learning of Ibo as a lingua franca at the expense of the Ikwerre language. In fact they were so good at his ethnicity assimilation that they were able to produce the MAYOR of Port Harcourt. They were also able to use their influence in Enugu to buy up all Ikwerre lands and properties.
Please read below quote if you missed it.

--------------------------------------------------------

"Ikwerre ethnic nationality is not and has never been a sub-group of any other tribe in Nigeria including Ndi-Igbo. There is no doubt that the advent of the British and later regionalization put Ndi-Igbo at the helm of affairs in Eastern Nigeria. This brought Ndi-Igbo into Ikwerre land. In course of time, the Igbo took advantage of their position in the then Eastern Regional Government to grab land in Ikwerre and occupy political positions such as the mayor of Port Harcourt. In the process, Ikwerre along with other minority groups were marginalized and driven to the
background."

Your mumu choke🤣🤣🤣.. ikwerre are Ibo men and women from imo State and Abia State. They migrated to rivers for farming and business.. the original owners of the land is ogonis Ijaw and okririka and kalabari

@Bolded,
This is the third time you are going Ad hominem on me. I believe we can debate without insults at monikers.
My reason for that moniker is tongue in cheek because when I joined this forum there were a lot of fake Christians in the religion section and I used that moniker to move against false and fake doctrines by pretending to be confused and not knowledgeable about the contents of the Bible.
I am on the politics section to oppose Ibo supremacist agenda, which is the belief that Ibos are superior to other tribes and an agenda to dominate, subjugate and conquer other tribes spiritually, culturally and economically.
A 66 year report can not superceed the constitution that recognises a tribe as a stand alone people that are an independent entity and a seperate people.
Once again except the Ibo have a hidden agenda, they need to leave the Ikwerre people alone. They don't want to associate with the Ibo. They want to be alone and free. Why are the Ibo trying to force them to be part of an Ibo nation?
Please free the Ikwerre people to be on their own. They don't want to associate with you. It is not by force to be together.

This one is neither Ikwerre nor Igbo, but opened up a thread to discuss Ikwerre and Igbo

See, I have carefully read your supposed ikwere history and followed your argument with the likes of ElevationD and co.
They failed to make you understand this simple but bitter Truth and I think I'll take it from here.

Now, like I said earlier that I've carefully followed your argument, with the way you normally omit "h" when trying to write "has" (that is the Yoruba "h" factor) makes me suspect that you're a Yoruba person.

The bitter Truth of the whole dragging or "attachee by force" is that the Igbos will never leave the ikweres alone, as long as they keep answering their names, practicing their culture and traditional as well as speaking their language. Have you ever seen nor heard the Igbos lay claim on any tribe or community in Cross River State, despite the state geographically being the original South East State or any other minority that have their own language and culture? why? Because the Cross River State and other minority tribes have their distinct language and culture.

Now, answer this;
Imagine seeing a News that a certain Chukwuma Chukwudum was apprehended in Cambodia and another certain Chinwuba Okafor was arrested in South Africa for kidnapping and other related crimes, what would first strike your mind if not that they're Igbos. This is the reason Igbos don't want to let go. You can't keep answering and committing crimes with my name and language and at the same time, turn around to claim you're not igbo.

It might shock you to know that most of the crime related topics on here, of which you may have, at one point in time, shouted "Igbo kwenu" may be carried out by the people that keep claiming that they're not Igbos.

I hope this clarifies why Igbos don't want to let go, and I bet you that any day, the ikweres change their their language and adopt bini language and culture, that's the day Igbos will let go.

The Ikwerre are saying you are their vassals. That means the Ibo migrated to their present locations from under the Ikwerre, hence the similarity of language and lexicon.....

The Ibo need to give this argument a rest. If they say they are Ikwerre and not Ibo,then the Ibo should leave them alone except the Ibo interests lie in something else which I personally believe they do.
Their interest is in Port Harcourt. Secondly they want people they would call tomorrow OSU.
Thirdly ikwerres call them Isuoma a loose interpretation of a slave. They also want to rub this identity on the ikwerres. And this is the particular reason an Ikwerre man will never accept he is Igbo.

I challenged one of you the other day to come up with any crime committed outside Nigeria or the mainland of Igbo people I mean the boundary of your dot states that is not from one of the states.
I want to throw this as a challenge bring up a name that sounds Igbo that committed a crime outside Igbo land that is not truly an Igbo man from the dot states.
Lastly identify any ikwerre man that has committed crime anywhere in the world that led him to be imprisoned or executed.
This is the boundary between you people and the ikwerres.
Agreed you people are well traveled. You heard the similarities between the Spanish and Portuguese language but you believe they are different people despite the similarities in their culture. You agreed that Sweden, Finland, Norway and Denmark are different people despite language similarities and culture. You agreed with the Ukrainian and Polish people. Malaysian and Indonesian. Yoruba and Itsekiri. Urhobo and Isoko. You saw these and identified them as different people why can't you look inward and see Ikwerre for who dey are?
There is what is called mutual intelligibility in linguistics class. That is the phenomenon we share together. If you had just 4 LGAs as Ikwerres have and the Ikwerres 5 States the language you speak would be described to be Ikwerriod.
DNA studies have shown Ikwerres are not related to you people. This is Science oooo. Leave us alone.

Do not misunderstand me in anyway. We have had a great conversation today and there’s been no need for insults.

In all, you failed to tell us your tribe, even as you tried to give us the Ikwerre story. I have only tried to let you know that “who feels it knows it”, making it difficult for you to understand my position. You failed to respond to the only question that I asked severally and finally acknowledged that you are not an Ikwerre person.

Thank you for your time today and do enjoy the rest of your evening.

First of all there is no DNA study that can establish any difference between Ikwerre and Igbo because they are the same people. The difference can only be noticeable if you do DNA say between Ikwerre and Nsukka but it will still be negligible.

2ndly the problem some Igbos like me have is not in the rights of Ikwerre to ethnic distinctness but rather the lie about Ikwerre history which has been persistently told from 1971 till date which must be corrected for the sake of future generations who might believe the lies as truth. The Akalaka history never mentioned Ihuruoha at all but rather Ekpeye and Ogba. Ihuruoha was attached later and till date is struggling to stick. People can originate from same place, share same history but grow into different ethnic groups as seen in the case of Ekpeye and Ogba. When you visit the real history of the Owerri area or Uratta/Ikwerre area their legend circles around 2 figures of Oha and Ochie whose origin is vague and unknown but from whence emerged the groups who sailed through Otamiri river settling through it's extensive territories in groups. These groups are todays Uratta now called Owerri, Etche and Ikwerre with other smaller groups that form parts of the group like Ohaji, Ngor, Okpala and Omuma. The same Oha descendants also traveled beyond Otamiri to Imo river bank now called Ohuhu while the ones that crossed over to Aba area towards Ibibio territory are today called Ngwa.

If Ikwerre has grown and evolved into a recognized distinct ethnic group it should be respected and every emphasis must be layed on that point but rewriting history will always generate controversy.

Ikwerre never came up with Akalaka story. Someone from Ekpeye fame up with that initially. The Akalaka story never came up in 1971 dont indirectly tellmme that ikwerre disassociated from you after the war. It has been before , during and became intensified after the war. Please check online Rumuomasi Declaration. Check when ikwerre people founded Ogbakor Ikwerre.
Let me also say that I for a person apart from scientific evidence which has said I don't share anything with you without which I am more connected to an Igbo person than any other groups in Nigeria.
If we have the same origin it doesn't make me you or you me. Children of the same parents are different people no matter the number of offsprings they might have.

In the interview with President, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Ralph Uwechue, published in the Daily Sun March 10, the President was asked what efforts he was making to unite Igbo in Rivers and Delta states, he said: "First of all, it should be understood that these factions who now deny the fact they are Igbo did so only after the civil war; take for instance the Ikwerre people... fully identified with us during the pre-civil war era but because the Igbo lost the civil war, a kind of stigma was smeared on them making a lot of people to start adjusting their names to sound less Igbo...". This statement is misleading and not correct.

First of all, Ikwerre is not Igbo. We have made this clear even before the civil war and that was why some Igbo accused Ikwerre of sabotage during the war. Second, in all efforts by the minorities in the former Eastern region to agitate for their own political, social and economic recognition and liberty in the Eastern region and Nigeria at large, Ikwerre participated fully: hence, the late Chief E. J. A. Oriji and others represented Ikwerre before and during most of the conferences set up to address the fears of the minority ethnic groups in Nigeria. Third, in May 1963, Ikwerre people formed the Ogbakor Ikwerre Convention to state that Ikwerre is a distinct ethnic group from any others in Nigeria. Fourth, in the 1964/65 elections into the Federal House of Representatives, National Council of Nigeria and the Camerouns (NCNC) nominated an Igbo man named Mr. Eluguronu to represent Ikwerre in the House. Ikwerre rejected it and fielded young Nwobidike Nwanodi as an independent candidate and he won. Fifth, Ikwerre's participation in all the movements for the creation of COR and later Rivers States clearly shows Ikwerre's rejection of been Igbo.

It's normal in every tribe . First wife would naturally be the closest it can be to the king's immediate clan.

So off that one , e nor fit fly 🤣🤣🤣🤣.

But ikwerre ladies prefer Igbo men. I mean the core Ibo men. They say their ikwerre brothers are lazy and are only about selling their fathers land and killing themselves out of Envy and jealousy .

Of course ikwerre ladies don't buy into all this bullsheet.. they are aware of where they emigrated from
You have stated the obvious why Ikwerres are not Igbos. Ikwerre people are lazy Igbos are hardworking. Ikwerre people sell land Igbos don't sell. Now can you leave us alone?

I don't see how a Kalabari (Ijaw) man becomes an Ikwerre man......please we are all enlightened here. There is no need of gas lighting to earn brownie points during an argument. .
So the Northerners regarded Kalabari man as Igbo and Ikwerre man as Bini. You are rely confused. Btw I included them in the post you quoted. Go and check.

The problem I have with people like you is that when your folly is exposed you ignorantly and arrogantly resort to ad hominem insults.
Below is from the link you posted in the Vanguard newspaper and I asked you why you were telling LIES that an Ikwerre man being appointed a boss at the NNPC was the cause of Murtala Muhammad overthrowing Yakubu Gowon's government.
I now ask you again HOW DOES A KALABARI MAN(IJAW) become an Ikwerre man for goodness sake?
This is 2024. Everyone has access to material. You can't come on these boards and hoodwink any body with your lies because you will be called out and exposed for the charlatan and purveyor of falsehood that you are!

Bless you, op... those different tongues and tribes that want to invade our land and corrupt our culture with their own won't ever say the truth. They're like Fulanis that leaves their home to another man's land to invade and claim.
I have an answer to this, when am ready I will start a thread on it and expose what confusedlady is trying to do.
No doubts mistakes were made but don’t let people whose way to clinge Nigeria into perpetual suffering is by causing division in Nigeria.

If in this day with all the education some Igbos, especially those who haven’t been outside the east, still see ikwerre as igbo, because of the name similarities and language similarities. In this age of information, is it not ignorance pushing them, rather than any form of agenda?

Don’t let a yoruba ronu deceive you, they will make it seem like you are ur friend just for their agenda but when all chips are down they will remind you that you are omo igbo.

Go and ask SS people who stay in Lagos let them tell you what they are facing, not to talk of ikwerre who have lots of similarities with Igbos.

Don’t let this hateful people deceive you

SS people should continue to let some selfish people who don’t care about anybody but themselves play them.

Igbos have shown our loyalty to the south and to Nigeria far too many times, but these people only care about themselves, they dont even care about Nigeria. That is y they are the only people who are known to push tribalism.

Igbos are the bad people when u ask them how they would show you sth that happened 100years ago when you can’t explain the situation or context of what it happened, but the one you are seeing with your two eyes they will gaslight you into not thinking it exists by still pointing you to sth that happened 100years ago.

Igbos hate SS people yet, Gej reelection they ganged up and removed him, this is a region that between 1999 till now they have produced president 8years, VP another 8years, you will think they should be fair by allowing another part of the south to have a feel, they still went collected it again.

You would think when amechi was fighting with these people he would think since they have done President 8years, and VP another 8years they will allow another region touch this power, they instead cornered it to themselves.

When Jonathan was in power we saw how he didn’t just carry the whole south along, he carried the whole of Nigeria along, but these people it’s just them alone, no other person matters.

Just as they bought over Amaechi and deceived him when shit got to shove that’s how they have bought over Wike and they will deceive him on the last minute and make another yoruba ronu man VP.

Their plan is themselves and them alone.

SS people are being gaslighted to hate igbo people look at the margin SW has given us since then, the difference between the west and the east didn’t use to be much we were all competing, but now see the gap west is giving the east.

I ask u people listening to this yoruba ronu selfish people tell u igbos are your enemies, as Lagos is developing which states are directly benefiting from its development? Is it not the surrounding SW states?

If today PH or Abia or Akwa Ibom develop won’t all of us benefit?

SS has a long coastline that has been rendered almost useless and people from Nigeria are all going to Lagos for sea ports operations and instead of u people to ask questions you guys were ok with it.

Majority of the oil is in the Niger delta but their headquarters are in Lagos, same people are still asking other people to leave Lagos. Instead of people to say this is not right, they will tell you in the year 1920 this happened and you people will shift your focus while they continue to cheat others.

I just laugh, make Una continue to fall mugu

@Bolded,
We await this phantom thread. 👻
So you need an independent thread to do what you could not do on this one?😁
The problem with the Ibo is that you ignorantly see anyone who disagrees with your supremacist agenda as a Yoruba Muslim.
