Even if it's for churches, I still support it. We throw out all manner of rubbish 🗑 at the government here but act sane when we leave the shores of the country. Are we devoid of sanity or what? I still can't fathom why we can't carpool in Nigeria, everyone wants to be on the road with their vehicles, causing unnecessary nuisance. Not to talk of landlords building without parking spaces. |

Hope it's not same Govt that started the false report just to test the waters. Then debunk it if there is heavy backlash from the public. |

The debunking was needless. Na same thing na. You will charge people for parking in the street. If someone parks his car on the street and enters the church, won't you charge him for parking in the street? |

Good! Nice the LASG clearly clarify this wrong narrative. Now they should investigate how that matter started flying about on the media space. |
| Re: Lagos Debunks False Report On Parking Charges For Religious Institutions by naptu2(op): 7:42am On Jul 23, 2024 |
MasterJayJay:The debunking was needed because some people had already started saying that it was targetted at Christians and they were asking why Mosques were not included. Check the first thread. |

MasterJayJay:Well, that's the fault of the people that are unable to read, not the fault of the government or the statement |

They can use bulleting to simplify their statements for people to be able to read and easily understand their intentions. |

Thank God! At last. I have been praying for this law to be enacted in Lagos a long time. Go and see how wide roads are turned to a single lane because of double and even triple lanes parking in Lagos. It is a nightmare. I always mark streets with wide roads, and I don't take them because that the parking fround for the residence of the area. And then, many houses owners don't even bother to create parking spaces in their compound...they will build minimum of six apartments in half of a plot, and at times there can be around 12 to 20 or even more cars residence of that building alone have. And that's how many houses are in Lagos. If we have just 2 of such houses in a street....mehn...na war. Such streets are always blocked. |

As I said, if someone can't read a full statement and understand what is written, that is the fault of the person, not the fault of the government or the fault of the statement. The statement is written in simple English. (How can somebody, after reading that statement, be arguing about whether a letter was addressed to churches? It was clearly stated that they addressed a letter to churches, so how can you be arguing that they said that they did not send a letter to churches? ) |
