Pls can you give more details on how to go about setting the current?
It's easy to set operating current of a buck converter if the load is resistive / inductive such as a led bulb or motor, but for a battery, it's quite tricky.

The constant current provided by the buck changes in tandem with the battery voltage level. If the battery is low let's say at 10.5v, the buck will deliver a high constant current. As the battery is nearing full charge @ around 12v, the buck delivers a low constant current.

For simplicity sake, just tweak the current trimmer clockwise to the max level till you start hearing some clicks from the trimmer, set your charging voltage, and put a cooling fan above your buck converter to prevent damage from overheating.

Doing this will not make your buck converter to burn out irrespective of the solar power rating supplied to it.

good morning boss.
If a regular car battery charger can fully charge a lithium ion battery with bms installed without any issues. Then a normal inverter of 24v should be able to charge a 24v 7s battery without issues also?

Cc dollarnaira ewizard1
Yes it should charge it so far the charge voltage does not exceed 29v for 7s system. You will also need to disable the equalization setting if your inverter comes with such. Inverters with editable charge settings are the best

Bulk doesn't have the ability to regulate its preset voltage with respect to battery voltage when using it as a charger.

It's Solar charge controller that does that

the inverter does not have an editable settings.

Lithium ion batteries are very sensitive and requires cc/cv source to charge them safely. A car battery charger does not have the cc/cv function and therefore risky to charge lithium ion batteries.

Many manufacturers are now integrating Lithium charging profile into their charge controllers and inverters to accomodate Lithium battery.

Be careful with Lithium ion battery as any wrong charger or Inverter not designed for it can cause thermal runaway in the battery pack thereby leading to fire and loss of property. Do not solely rely on your bms for maximum protection as it can fail like every other electronics.

And note Lithium fire is difficult to extinguish because it has its own special type of fire extinguisher.
Thanks for this detailed explanation/precaution. I was about advising not to use car battery charger for lithium batteries. It's dangerous

Thanks for this explanation though I am not satisfied yet. I am trying to see if a boost converter connected directly to a 12v battery will charge a laptop perfectly but I am yet to get the current setting of the converter and hence the laptop is charging very slowly

How much can I pay for an already constructed 100ah 24v lifepo4 battery with everything I need to use it with a 1.5kva 24v inverter?

Às per spec, size (based on components of the installation, I believe) and even brand, if possible

I use WLS SPDs, size depends on your system design but better you use an SPD close to your system voltage as possible, both AC and DC side, you also need to pair your AC SPD to an over-current protector like this

Penuelseun:
you can use a laptop charger connected to a buck converter for that, or get a cctv power pack like this
That means I'm back to using a buck converter. But I'm a bit confused with that CCTV pack. How does it work?
And yeah, how do I connect the buck converter to my setup?
Sorry for the countless questions, but I just have to get it right.

Run one or two basic test on it and use it .don't let that discourage u.start with what u have now.your experience on it will be your guide and be advantage later,u will still use Premium batteries in future build bro.
Thanks

I am building a student power bank.
Am considering running 12v or just 3.7 with power bank module...

So I need pratical experience on this
Does the BMS below cut off the battery once it is low?

The person requested for a 50000mah Mobile phone charger anyway

This bms cut off at 2.3/2.5v which is not good for Samsung 26J as a typical example. Spec sheet of it says 2.75v but doing 3v per cell is the best for most cells, unless spec sheet says otherwise.

I DON'T RELY ON BMS but rely on minimum working voltage of the device that will pull load from it.

Spend more on balancers and devices with minimum working voltage.

There are too many cheap bms out there with extremely poor functions.

Please does any one have this for sale? Either new or used. Also something similar, I am fine with it. I am not very sure of the quality of the ones on Jumia, plus I am on a budget and need it urgently

I have decided to start mobile power station rental for small businesses.

If you look around you, you will realize there are many businesses that only need basic lighting and a small/wall fan to run their operations and it hurts my heart seeing them burning expensive fuels to power their generators.

Running traditional generators comes with so much wahala and headaches - noise, regular fuel refills and oil changes, unexpected breakdowns, surges damaging electronics, fire, maintenance fees etc.

Buy renting out portable power stations to these businesses at a low cost will help them save money and be more productive.

My targets are salons/barbershops, drug stores, foodstuff sellers, provision stores, phone charging business etc.
I will be sharing my ideas, designs and journey toward achieving this goal.

Am thinking of first connecting my inverter to my APC surge extension. From there, I feed to the house.

I will not like another lightning strike on my inverter again.

What do you all think?
