Why is APC afraid of civil protest and are bent on muffling and crippling any acts of expression of freedom, whereas they used these instruments to mobilize the masses against Jonathan in 2014 to snatch power. If they had ruled with a difference, would there be need for protest? The same thing they accused Jonathan of, they have done quadruple of that insane misrule. |

adamusuleiman1:World press conference of online blogs and sycophants, another mushroom flight by night, envelope collecting nonentities seeking publicity. Though I like what they stand for, nevertheless it’s a short lived organization |

Unfortunately, they’ve refused to learn. The reason (or among the reasons) mass protests have largely been unsuccessful in this part of the world is we’ve allowed such protests to be organized/led/hijacked/coordinated by sore losers, hypocrites, faceless persons/diasporans, those with hidden agendas, without originality & "hashtag warriors". Those behind "End Bad Governance" & its other associated names are mostly supporters of a certain presidential candidate who lost the elections; ask them which bad Governance are they ending? Is it "bad governance" at only the presidential level or states' levels? Okay, let's assume it's at all levels & the protesters succeed in their motive, after sacking the President, governors, legislators & judges from office, what's the next line of action? If you say you're ending bad governance & the plan is to ground all activities, hope the same energy dissipated by the protesters to ground states like Lagos (especially) will be maintained in Abia? Kaduna & so on? Because we saw the pattern during End SARS protests where Anambra, which had the notorious & probably the most deadly SARS in Nigeria (Awkuzu SARS) was spared while the mob was unleashed on Lagos mostly. For 8 solid years, bandits pillaged, raped, killed, kidnapped, destroyed & wiped out entire communities in northern Nigeria yet, there wasn't protests on a massive scale against the government; the activities of these bandits is to a very large extent responsible for the food scarcity we're currently experiencing as most farming communities were either sacked with the farmers displaced from their lands or where they even farmed, had to abandon their farmlands to escape death in the hands of bandits. In the Southeast too, for years now, UGM have been wreaking havoc & declaring sit-at-homes every Monday with no one born of a woman bold enough to violate those Monday orders; we saw how Igbo sons & daughters were been killed in broad daylight (have we forgotten so soon how the husband of late Prof. Dora Akunyili was murdered in cold blood on the streets? Even homeless dogs didn't die in such manner) in the most gruesome manner by these criminals yet, there was never a mass protest to call for an end to these crimes. In the Southwest, how many times did they hit the streets in protest against the wanton destruction of farmlands, raping of women and invasion of.communities by suspected herdsmen? We can keep telling ourselves that hunger in the land is the sole reason for these latest protests (of course the level of hunger & hardship is unprecedented) but we know the real reason: create unrest across the land because your fav candidate lost & you are suddenly seeing all the "gains" made in terms of key appointments in the last 9 years to people from your region & religion are gradually being eroded by the administration you thought would kowtow to you all the way. |

adamusuleiman1:Lol. Some people think they have seen the worst of Nigerians. Wait till 2027 and see your hopes dashed again. There are those who have a sit on the table, and there are those feeding on the crumbs that fall off the table. Groups like this one represent those on whose back the table (of oppression) rests. There's nothing anyone can do to deliver them from mental slavery. Sadly, they're in the majority and the reason you can bet we'll repeat this cycle in 2027. The funny part is that everyone so far has acknowledged that there's hunger and hardship, but most Nigerians sure love their chains of slavery, don't they? |
