I am also weighing in on the protest discourse and I am of the opinion that the government should allow people to protest so far it remain peaceful.

Anyone that want to peacefully protest should be allowed to do so because when grievance is not allowed to be vent out, it creates more headache.

If we remove fuel subsidy, electricity subsidy, dual forex rate, and etc and we have inflation with food prices and some other sector due to Nigeria economy adjusting to this critical change, the people bearing the brunt should be allowed to to protest peacefully.

However, there are some element that do not want peaceful protest and all they want is to use join genuine protesters and try to blend their agenda of “Tinubu must go” to get power through the back door. Those one are the enemies of state.

The government should deploy the full force of police on the protest ground, they should guard genuine protesters, if those non-genuine protesters do anyhow, they should be beaten to a pulp.

God bless Nigeria.

Also, people should go to their respective region to stage protest.

If you are from Abia, you have a thousand reason to protest in Abia because Alex Otti have practically turned the civil servants in that state to poverty stricken old men & women.

He is paying them 18k and some of them have resorted to eating from the dustbin. We can’t continue this way.

Abians should protest massively against both Otti and Tinubu in Umuahia and send a message.

Same should be done in Osun, Borno, and any other state not paying the previous 30k minimum wage.

Alex Otti is the best Governor in Nigeria now,all this 18k minimum wage payment is been peddled by Apc to distract his good work but people know it's fake news and don't take it serious.

Be like say suffer never tire you.

This is NLC leader in Abia state clearing talking about 18k.

Otti is a useless governor. He can’t even lace the shoes of the governor of Borno.

President Tinubu should just set up some commando within the police force that will be at strategic point.

Any insurrectionist should be arrested, handcuffed, and thrown into Kuje to eat watery beans like we did for Nnamdi Kanu.

Peaceful protesters should be allowed to proceed with their protest and disperse after venting their demand.

The 'Tinubu must go' chant will be activated if a single peaceful protester is kllled so if Amoda and his agbados know what is good for them, they should maintain their lane in the 10 days of rage!

Any insurrectionist should (WILL) be shot at sight!

I trust the Nigerian army. They will treat them in the language the army treat treasonous element.

Na only the parent of any miscreant that allow Peter Obi send him on a treason charade I pity. Obi should go and bring his Gaybriel so and ask him to commit treason.

You see Atiku openly supported the protest like a man but Peter Obi the cowardd took the bait of Onanuga by crying to sue when the guy should be owning up to sponsoring protest himself. Can you see the mind games?

Nigeria police are already energized.

This is the force PRO today. Destroy government properties and you will regret the day you were born.

Protest is your right. Destroying properties or trying to forcefully change a democratically elected president is treason and the wage is mrnigerD.

Bro, have you asked the said protesters to tell you what exactly is the purpose of the protest? What are their demands?

Cos it be like you have not been updated about their underground motives even though they have been slippery.

A protest to remove the president or have you not been reading that?

It’s two way things. There are genuine protesters and there are bitter Obi protesters who think they can remove Tinubu through protest.

You cannot stop genuine protesters who are trying to protest high cost of living. The more we try to stop them, the more they get angry. Jonathan tried stopping 2012 protest too but it’s impossible.

What you now do is to deploy police to guard the genuine protesters, give them time to complete their rally and give force deadlines to disperse at certain time.

When non-genuine protesters see a well policed environment, no one of them will go and torch the city, government properties , or cause anarchy. They would have been boxed to the corner.

What is bad is people carrying placard and telling the president that inflation should be reduced or he should return full subsidy or make food prices lower? I don’t see anything bad in that.

God bless you. This is what I am saying and this should be the thing the government should do ultimately.

Give them police, give them venue, guard the venue, let them carry their placard and dance, disperse them after the duration elapse.

When you have a fully guarded protest, the cowardss that hide under it to unleash havoc on public properties will not have any triggers to use. At that time, you will have every right to deal with them mercilessly.

How do you separate genuine protesters from those with ulterior motives, would they write it on their heads or placards?

Have you been following up with the events in Kenya?

The protest is almost a month old even after the government had

- President refused to sign the finance bill

- He dissolved all the Cabinet secretaries

- Cut government wastage at least for a start yet the protesters are still on the street because they have motives.

Should we allow Nigeria to descend to that level when we all know that there are some supporters of the election losers who just refused to get over the 2023 election and are willing to do whatever to cause chaos and confusion.

The prisoners they released in Edo state during ends SARS, how many of them have they been recaptured? Those who at large, have they turned to pastor/imam or got a decent job at shell hence saying bye bye to crime.

Those who are into crime, with pending big operations ahead, they would need their sure men for the job already picked by the security agencies.

We need to be realistic here. No to any protest for now

A man who lives in a state and pays tax and all manner of dues to that state and contributes to that state , should pack up and go to his home state where he does not live to protest good governance .

Yes he should pack back to his state. Nigeria is a tribal state with separate region.

When Nnamdi Kanu declare sit at home, will a Yoruba man living in Enugu say he won’t comply because he is paying tax in Enugu?

Police and the relevant men already have marching order. Any son of man that want to do insurrectionists in the West will regret it till the end of his life.

You just come out in Lagos with and attempt any destructive action. Let’s leave all this online back and forth.

Even David Hyundai was once sensible about insurrectionists.

I understand your stance but I humbly disagree.

The FG should have learn from the Kenya case and not even give ground for any Naija protest to descend to that.

Most protest that cause problem are those that catch people unaware. Endsars and Kenya protest caught everyone unaware, that is why most protest after Endsars in Nigeria fail to generate same traction because government are alive to the game.

To your statement, you don’t need to distinguish between a peaceful and a violent protester. All you just need to do is to have a heavily policed protest environment. Insurrectionists usually bank on chance, don’t give them the chance.

You cannot stop protest. It’s impossible. What you can only do is to water the effect down and that is allowing it and defining the narrative.

Tell me how you think you can stop a protest? If Atiku carry placard tomorrow on the street of Abuja, how do you stop him?
