" All over Africa, we are all sitting on a keg of gunpowder. The youths are hopeless and angry. The protest is just the beginning, If adequate attention is not paid to the needs of the youths, it would be very, very ugly for all of us, "

The youths have been rendered useless.
They have been fed with hard drugs rather than a positive future.
The worst is the youths that defends this anomaly thinking things will get better.

Of course! The African continent is politically unstable because of bad, useless irresponsible sit-tight tyrannical leadership that are deaf to the pain, anguish and suffering of their citizens.

What did the Kenyans achieve with their protest? The Hong Kong protest that lasted for years, what did they achieve with it? The Arab spring protest that swept across the Arab countries, what’s the outcome? Are those countries better off today?

Back to Kenya,

In 2008, there was a very bloody protest over the December 2007 presidential election. Over 1500 people died as a result of that protest. One would have thought that that was enough to earn the people their liberty but no, they are again protesting and losing lives for the same purpose.

Who are the beneficiaries of all these protests? Politicians. From the Arab spring to the Kenyan protest of 2008 to the current protest and the planned anti-Tinubu protest, politicians who want to grab power will be the beneficiaries and not the poor masses who are pawns in all of these.

The Ruto Kenyan protesters want to remove today was the popular activist of yesterday who had the solution to all of Kenya’s problems. He’s the same Ruto that defeated a political alliance of Kenyatta and Raila Odinga. He was supposed to be the messiah so what has changed?

Anyone thinking the planned protest in Nigeria is about the masses is a fool. A very big fool. It is never about you and will never be about you. It’s all about politicians greed and desire for power grab.

There is a feeling of hopelessness in the horizon in Nigeria currently.
Tinubu said fuel subsidy is gone, but it's still being somehow subsidised with fuel landing cost at over ₦1000.

Dangote Refinery that had hopes of crashing fuel price is facing serious challenges.
Prices of Goods & Services are still on the increase.
The citizens don't see financial prudence & sincerity from the leadership.
&so on...

Tinubu needs to address Nigerians live to show he is on top of the situation & take immediate actions that will restore some level of confidence.
I believe this will calm most people & avert the imminent protests.

Obasanjo is speaking the truth. The anger of the youths is valid, and it’s time for leaders to listen. Ignoring their voices can lead to serious consequences. Let’s hope this serves as a wake-up call for all.

When the man that controls cement for 50 years.

Wakes up one day and wants to have 90% access to all the profit from Crude Oil/Diesel/Petrol.

Knowing fully well that's the only source of revenue for the whole country (salaries, pension, funding government, building infrastructures)

We should just hand over the keys to CBN to Dangote.

Some foolish people are supporting him.

Nobody advocates for the common man. Poverty is increasing everyday, There is food inflation.Hospitals are not working, housing is expensive (cement expensive).

The greedy elites are just fighting on how to corner national assets, How many hospitals has Dangote built and donated to Nigeria, How many schools has he built, How many Kogi Indigene have benefited from him having the largest cement company in Kogi. Some clueless people are busy advocating we should give him crude and buy petrol from him.

Without proper regulatory oversight with checks and balances. He can buy his crude from the open market and sell his petrol there too as well. We Nigerians are tired of being exploited. All the government patronage and concessions he has received in over 30 years ? what has he given back ?

Show me one public housing unit he has helped develop with subsidized cement to alleviate the housing crisis in Nigeria. Some delusional people are shouting he will bring down the price of petrol.

Abi you dey whine ........Dey play.

So what is the solution?

When Tinubu protested with people like you, you didn't see anything wrong in it, and are you also trying to say you people were big fools?

These were the exact same arguments of my Political Sociology professor when we were looking at the aftermath effects of the Arab spring.

The biggest fool of all would be one who thinks it's okay to set about infringing on the rights of others because of the picture they have in their heads.

Don't force it.

It is just the obvious truth. Other than the politicians that assumed power, no one else benefitted from the Arab spring or Kenya protest of 2008.
