He has from now till the 1st of August to make things right, otherwise northerners may hit the streets.

After all he had more than a year, but all that Nigerians got was starvation, price hike, petrol price hike, electricity tariff hike, multi billion naira home for the vice president, multi billion naira presidential jet, nepotism and tribalism and ethnic profiling of the Igbos.
Exercise patience for him to finish his 8 years tenure that's what he is asking for

Those Northerners brought Nigeria to this sorry state.
They are the bko haram and bandits blocking farmers and also begging the govt not to import so it doesnt destroy their business.
Subsidy scam is mostly dominated by them and some other atrocities that they indulge in that had made Nigeria a sorry state.

There will be pain but Tinubu will fare best God's willing.
Rome was not built in a day.It has been years of enormous rot.
Same thing you said for 8 years of Buhari's misrule. You have started again. Is it that you don't have sense or you are an animal?

In as much as I support the reform being carried out by this administration, I don't think it is wise enough to tell the citizens not to protest peacefully. Peaceful protest is part and parcel of democracy - which we currently practice.

Moreover, Tinubu and his goons protested against GEJ. If I'm not mistaken, it seems they even led the protest, not just a regular protester. They now sound more like hypocrites - urging and begging people not to protest peacefully.

Now, my only problem is Nigerians don't know how to protest peacefully. It is difficult for a peaceful protest not to be hijacked by criminals in Nigeria. That is my only fear in this.

The administration should not be afraid of a peaceful protest. But the fear of the mayhem(s) that has always followed the so-called peaceful protests in Nigeria is scary. A lot of criminals are waiting by the corner to unleash mayhem on people and businesses, all in disguise of protest.

All in all, the government should communicate clearly with its citizens, assist the poor and the needy in this difficult period of the reforms, and more importantly, cut down on government cost.

I was so disturbed and concerned when news broke the other day that the Nigerian government released N90 billion to subsidize the cost of the 2024 Hajj pilgrimage for citizens. This is not only wasteful, but so unreasonable in a country where over 50% of its citizens live below the poverty line. The government really erred on this. Imagine what that amount could have provided for each family in this difficult period.

But on a second note, Nigeria is a very religious country. The subsequent government tries to assuage different religious groups so as not to be labeled anti-christian/anti-muslim. At the end of the day, we (both citizens and leaders) are our problem.

As I have always maintained, we need re-orientation as a nation.
Did you vote for Tinubu during the election? If you voted for Tinubu during the election, this long note that you wrote to show that you have sense just showed that you went to school but have no single sense. Believing that Buhari and now Tinubu would keep Nigeria the way they met her and not run her aground makes you an adult fool.

Some years past Tinubu calls for revolution in GEJ administration. Those who are trying to stop the planned protest doesn't mean well for Nigerians. At a point when we couldn't bear the police brutality back then we protested and the impact of ENDSAR movement across the country is what is what we are enjoying today. Nigerian cannot continue to work on the same failed political system, so changes have to be made. If the situation of country demands protesting for our right, so let it begin. You can't make positive changes without doing anything. Miracle doesn't happen without the application of faith.

Yes Nigerians don't know how to do peaceful protest. But the government also don't know how to listen to the people when they are peaceful.

In fact there are various instances of the government being very high handed when groups of people were still not violent. Examples include the niger delta militants, and ipob which was tagged terrorist group when they didn't yet have a single bullet, and their people getting severely oppressed.

Now that they have become violent, how many "roll in the mud" videos have you seen since then?

Also can you give me one major issue that was resolved with peaceful protest in the history of this country? Just one please. Endsars had to happen before the government pretended to disband or rather "repair" it. Before that the government practically talked down on people who suggested the disbandment of SARS.

So is it a case of the chicken and egg problem?

Do Nigerians do violent protests because government doesn't take peaceful protests serious? Or does the government not take peaceful protests serious because people always do violent protests?

Buhari told us the same and achieved nothing for Nigeria. Tinubu supported Buhari throughout his 8 year administration, and Tinubu promised Nigerians that he would follow in the footsteps of Buhari, and he seems to be doing that, when you consider Tinubu's first year in office.

I seriously doubt people are willing to waste another 8 years of their lives, waiting for a clearly incompetent Tinubu to finish two terms, buying private jets and private yachts, while the people are dying of hunger and loosing their jobs, and paying for petrol through their noses.
