How do you label a protest "days of rage" and call it peaceful protest? Who is leading your protest? Nobody wants to take accountability for that, headless mob. In 2012, we know the people that led the protests and they took full responsibility. They protested in their states and in front of their homes and businesses. They knew how to control it and when to stop it. Same cannot be said today. Even Falana who used to run mouth on your behalf, said he cannot join the protests as it is headless and without real motive.
Wao!! The protest is without real motive haha..let your conscience judge you chaa..people are facing serious hardship now compared to that 2012 when they protested for their own personal interest..Pure personal interest..the subsidy they protested against its removal was now claimed to be removed by them which was pure lies..

i know and understand that there is hardship caused by different factors like the removal of fuel subsidy and floatation of the naira.
Okay, in clearer terms, what are your demands, that's what i mean by motives. What do you want or hope to gain from the protest?

Learn from 2020, learn from Libya and Sudan, learn from what is going on in Kenya and Bangladesh. Only fools will keep doing the same thing and expect a different result.
The government has just increased minimum wage by over 100% and it's to be paid from April, May, June and July. It didn't take protests or burning down the country, grounding the economy and looting.

Edit. Permit me to quote Reno Omokri below this morning. Everything here was done without protests, destrcuction and looting. More is coming.
I'm sorry, what do you mean by "it's to be paid from May, April, June and July"

If you protest, you die

If you don't protest, you die

So it better to die for something than to die for nothing.

The situation of Nigeria today is already "a mass killing weapon" and we have the duty to rescue ourselves and the generation unborn

Protest against bad government is inevitable for all well meaning Nigerians
An ugm member who has nothing to live for has spoken.

Nonsense

It will. Some criminal elements will definitely take full advantage of the protest to wreck havoc on unsuspecting citizens and businesses.

Similar might happen on the 1st of August in Nigeria.

The new salary structure for FG workers starts from April, so they'll be paid in arrears too.

...Fuel price return to its original price of atleast 150naira
... reduce import duty( sea freight)
...Reduce insecurity
...power sector improvement
... food scarcity which the major cause is insecurity
.. stop selective probing by Government
...the worst of it is insecurity

I can count on and on

Vote in bad government and hope on protest... Many inec guys collected $200 and allowed fake results, sham on my fellow country men🤦
Re: Drenched In Blood - How Bangladesh Protests Turned Deadly by Gunboat127(m): 3:07pm On Jul 24, 2024
Well,it is always easy for the military or police to always injure protesters because those protesting never do so with the intention of fighting the police or millitary so they are never armed..do you think if in a country like Nigeria for example,100 million people come out to protest armed with AK 47 and other heavy weapons, the military can come out and start doing target practice on them?😒... because citizens no wan carry arms against the state no mean say them go dey threaten person anyhow with millitary and police might

First, the most of your demands bother on insecurity. A protest will trigger insecurity further and on a nationwide scale. How do we deal with the insecurity caused by your protests, any ideas?
Government already suspended import duties on food, this is better than your demand for reduction.
https://punchng.com/fg-suspends-food-imports-duty-partners-states-on-farming/

Food scarcity does not get solved by protests, they only increase as there will be additional inflation caused by the protests. The federal government has released tons of grains, fetilizer and cash to help with farming. They have decided to open the borders to allow importation of food so that there can be supply and reduced costs. You don't need protests for that. When you sow/plant, you have to wait for harvest, protests don't make harvests come quicker. Go and ask your state government what they are doing to help and your fellow citizens who hoard goods and increase prices to whatever they want when they want.

The power sector has actually improved. In fact, some of us were skeptical at first and saying that it is because of the raining season, but it seems it's actually different this time. Aside that, the FG 2023 Electricity Bill was signed into Law to end federal monopoly in the power sector and empower states and the private sector to generate, distribute and transmit power. It takes years to see changes in that, it's not an akara joint or iceblock business that is been set up. Protests and the vandalism that will follow will only slow down the pace of the work if not scare away intending investors.

i don't understand selected probing and how exactly it helps anybody or needs protests and wanton destruction to achieve.

As for pump price of 150naira per litre. How do you want that to be done? Do you want the marketers to buy it at gun point for free so that it can be sold for 150, or there's a magic word like shouting "Open Sesame" and the price will come down? Help explain the logical possibility of this.

No it's not. Your protest doesn't stop insecurity but increases it. Who'll be responsible for all the people that you harass, maim and harm because they don't join your protest? Who's responsible for the economic loss and businesses destroyed and looted in your protest?
