We would have seen headlines that Travellers were kidnapped if not for timely intervention by well meaning truck drivers.

The Abuja Lokoja road was blocked by heavily armed bandits whose intent was to carry out kidnapping.

From the video, you can see that all cars were parked by the road, far from where the would have been abducted. The person narrating said that the weapons carried by the officers were no match for what the bandits have hence they could not engage them.

The Government should be more proactive to secure the citizens.

If it happens at East and it concerns IPOB or ESN all Nigeria forces will be on ground to fight separatist. But when it concerns intentionally allowed gun wielding terrorists of Fulanis, Nigerians will coat them bandit and untouchable with excuses. What happens to all war jets that governments bought? How many hours will it take the air military to reach there and kill the terrorists that block roads in day time? their weapon is now higher than all the ammunition in the barack?  yet the government is fighting ESN that fight the criminals.

Angelfrost:
It's their right to block the highway...!

After all, our leaders gave them the room and license.

If we took security as seriously as we are castigating the planned protests, such embarrassing news won't surface.

Meanwhile, the IGP is in Abuja telling journalists that insecurity has become a thing of the past.
Hahaha Abi?it's Dia fkn right to kinap

Yes Boss.

Just reason am na!

They say we are have shortage of security agents to fight insecurity, but they deploy thousands to 'fight' protests.

Look at Kenya supplying Policemen to Haiti to help restore law and order! In another country o.

While a whole Giant of Africa has local miscreants and terrorists blocking a federal highway in broad daylight.

IGP Egbetokun you see that you don't even know your constitutional responsibility? This is where the intelligence of the famous CID/FIB or Police Special Branch ought to have infiltrate the den of these treasonable bandits cum terrorists to eliminate this menace.

But your obsession is protesters demanding good governance from the failed government your are trying in futility to entrench. SMH!
It's indeed pathetic. Meanwhile why v you been avoiding my question.
Why ll Kanu do this?

Insecurity worsened in Nigeria during Bubu & Tinubu time.

How is 042? I miss that city. I heard the current governor is working well

I don't know what the president was thinking when he handed our security to the same guys giving the rest of the country sleepless nights. If it was an experiment, at least it is now clear it was a failed one. It is one thing to say "professionalism," but an average Nigerian's loyalty is first to their tribe.
I don't know if the president will see this post, but if he can or if people close to him can, please he should reconsider his position on who gets what security wise. Any other Nigerian can be involved in our security but not those migrants or their cousins at this time. The biggest wins we had of recent against terrorism in this country was during the time of Gen. Ihejirika. If the president has some reservations for security experts from the East, he should consider neutrals like the North Central or South - but never from a group of people whose leaders think terrorists are freedom fighters, who would rather call terrorists bandits, or a group of people who believe in clemency for terrorists. This may not solve all our security challenges, but I believe it is going to be a huge step.

These are some of the legitimate reasons the people are calling for the peaceful protest. The government has unwaveringly shown apt incompetence to handle the nation's affairs.

Tinubu will handle the economy and Shettima will handle the security. Those were all electioneering gimmicks to deceive Nigerians.

How would bandits be so powerful that they can block a federal road for hours close to the federal capital unchallenged? And you say that peaceful protesters want to bring the country down.

The insensitivity of the Tinubu administration is second to none.I am happy the " shege" is felt by everybody and hopefully I will see if we have a deep romantic relationship with suffering at the next election cycle.

May be Onanuga Will say that this was sponsored by Peter Obi or Atiku.

Bunch of incompetent people.

IG already told us he is prepared for the planned protest but why not also be proactive on this bandits and kidnappers? Police should be reformed in Nigeria.
