Vianna:When a Lexus ES 330 2006 model I bought January last year for 3.6M is now 9M. You and your cohorts should continue playing ethnic cards |

Medipharm:You just need to let her know you own one old Lexus ES 330 2006 model! January last year was a time many Nigerians couldn't get more than 10000 out of their accounts. |

All bat has to do is take the purchasing power & cost of living back to pre-2015 equivalent levels. Then, he can start to improve from there. |

ElSudani:You are the one that bought it for me naa. Abi?Because they use cash to buy Cars in your Area. Tell your personal lord and savior to return the country to how he met it and watch people worship him |

Medipharm:Meaning, if you sell it today you'd make profit of 5.4m minus depreciation, which sounds good to me unless you are a consumer and not an investor. Imagine if you were one of those who bought 10 Lexus ES 330 2006 in January last year. You now be sitting on a cool 54m profit and would be praising agbado. |

budaatum:What of those that were saving to get 3.6 million to buy the same vehicle from their fixed salary only to get to the market and they hear it is now 9m? |
| Re: There Is No Need For August 1st Protest, Nigeria Is Better Than You Think by Medipharm: 4:46pm On Jul 28, 2024 |
budaatum:Sell them at a profit of 54M and buy 5units at 9M. No be negative business? |
| Re: There Is No Need For August 1st Protest, Nigeria Is Better Than You Think by budaatum: 4:54pm On Jul 28, 2024 |
Brendaniel:Ahh. Fixed salary, lol. With Nigerian inflation running for decades at over 10%, I'd think only senseless people would hope to save up for a Lexus ES 330 2006. Because the more you run after a Lexus ES 330 2006 with your fixed salary, the further away the constant moving price of a Lexus ES 330 2006 will move away from you, as will the cost of maintaining it. Not wise, I'd think, to buy a Lexus ES 330 2006, when even the maintenance cost is not fixed. The wise would rather buy land and build a house to save on constantly growing rent, or invest it in educating oneself so one's salary is not fixed. |
| Re: There Is No Need For August 1st Protest, Nigeria Is Better Than You Think by Brendaniel: 4:58pm On Jul 28, 2024 |
budaatum:But the land and even the education will also be going up with the same inflation of the Lexus ES 330? |
| Re: There Is No Need For August 1st Protest, Nigeria Is Better Than You Think by budaatum: 5:04pm On Jul 28, 2024 |
Medipharm:But you wouldn't sell the "5units at 9M" (each) come next January, since agbado is not all of a sudden going to reverse the trend. You'd likely sell each of the 5 units at 18m each, and the 5 at 90m, making a further positive profit of 45m on top of the 54 you already made. Unless you are bad at business of course, or don't know simple accounting. |
| Re: There Is No Need For August 1st Protest, Nigeria Is Better Than You Think by budaatum: 5:10pm On Jul 28, 2024 |
Brendaniel:You'd own the land which will continue to appreciate, and the education you bought which will unfix your salary so it rises above inflation. You are after all unlikely to settle for the same salary you earned before you bought yourself an education, considering the improvement in your brain use acquired from the education you bought. Or are you? The land and the education are assets, note, while the Lexus ES 330 2006 is more like something you consume and that will depreciate. |
| Re: There Is No Need For August 1st Protest, Nigeria Is Better Than You Think by Brendaniel: 5:16pm On Jul 28, 2024 |
budaatum:It's like you do not understand me, if the worker is saving to buy the land worth 3.6m or get an education the same inflation would have made it 9m naira before he will be able to buy the land or get the education... So what solution do you give to such a person? |
| Re: There Is No Need For August 1st Protest, Nigeria Is Better Than You Think by Medipharm: 5:19pm On Jul 28, 2024 |
budaatum:Oga you be cruise. Tell your president to fix the nation |
| Re: There Is No Need For August 1st Protest, Nigeria Is Better Than You Think by budaatum: 5:25pm On Jul 28, 2024 |
Brendaniel:You shouldn't really save up to buy an education, nor land for that matter, if you have any sense. You buy the education in small increments as soon as you have a little. And the increment in knowledge you bought should improve your income so you can more easily buy the next level. And the land can be bought with a fixed interest loan so its cost to you does not increase with time. You might even find you are still paying off a 3.6m loan while the land you bought is now 9m. |

| Re: There Is No Need For August 1st Protest, Nigeria Is Better Than You Think by budaatum: 5:29pm On Jul 28, 2024 |
Medipharm:Sorry, but I do not rely on "your president to fix the nation" for me. I get off my ass and fix the portion of the nation that concerns me myself instead of waiting for some president messiah who likely hasn't got a clue to fix my lot for me.

ambale:The person who mentioned buying a Lexus ES 330 2006 already bought one for 3.6m, and there are lots of people out there currently finding ways to buy one now for 9m. In fact, if the person who bought one for 3.6m waits a little, they'd likely be able to sell it for 18 and then buy a cheaper car than a Lexus. We are not all unsmart, you see. Some might "sign up to piggy vest" to increase their income. |

budaatum:If all these options yoy mentioned were there for the vehicle buyer, don't you think he would have taken then. What if the options you mentioned are not there for the land and the education just like the vehicle buyer? |

Brendaniel:This is like asking what a person who lacks the option of acquiring their daily bread by the sweat of their brow should do. They do without and starve of course, or get off their lazy asses and create options for themselves.

budaatum:God bless you and all other Nigerians who think this way. Things will get better if we do our own little part with honesty. Someone who criticizes the government will re-bag free rice provided by the government and resell to unsuspecting public. Isn't that madness? |
